My navigation system has been frozen on this screen (see photo) for about 5mo. now. I've searched the internet far and wide and buried myself in this forum, and I cannot find any specific reference to the issue I am having for this specific year/model (09 TL w/ Tech, *NO* SH-AWD)
The only YouTube videos I'm seeing reference 3rd gen TL models wherein the nav system runs off an actual DVD that sits in the trunk of the car. My 09 TL does not have this, of course, with the nav system running off the hard drive. The only tactic I've tried is disabling the battery for a few hours, which did not work.
No dealership will provide me with any insight into what I might be able to do, simply encouraging me to come in to run a diagnostic. Before I go that route, I'm just looking to confirm it isn't something I can handle myself (and save $$).
Additional details: the screen is completely frozen. None of the Nav buttons respond in any way nor provide auditory feedback. The radio works fine, and my phone still pairs with the bluetooth, but only because it had been pre-set. I obviously would not be able to pair a new device. Phone calls work, but only if i dial with my phone then transfer audio to car bluetooth. The auxiliary input still works with my old ipod, but without access to the screen (obviously), I can't select music outside of the device itself. Radio works.
Any insight is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.
