I just purchased an 06 Tl and im needing to know how when someone calls or you call out using the handfree system can youg et it to show on the navigation screen thier name and number?.... ive seen it before but cant seem to get it to do it anymore

 

The '06 doesn't show that info on the nav screen. It will show the number of the caller in the info display below the speedo. See the manual for more.

 

i swear it did. but i could have been mistaken. so it doesnt show the name? or say who is calling?

 

I don't think it will show the name or who is calling on the Nav screen. I think I know what you mean though. When you are searching for a restaurant, store, etc, I know that if you have your bluetooth linked to your phone it will give you the option on the Nav to dial the restaurant, store, etc directly? Is this what you mean?

 

not sure about the 06, but in my 08, the display under the speedometer only shows the phone number of the person dialing, no name or anything. There's no information about an incoming phone call displayed on the main navigation screen.

 

Just the number with no name Can't stand it when a ugly girl calls and I answer by mistake.

You can upload your address book in the navi screen and dial from there. Or you can enter then manually into the navi address book.

 

I didn't try to sync up my phone book, but I did add by voice a few numbers. that way i can just speak the name and it calls. With those numbers, if they call in, all you get is the phone number displayed, no name or anything.

you might need to put some sticky notes all over the dashboard with numbers of 'hot/ugly' girls so you know when to answer when to let it go to voicemail.

 

Is the uploading phone book feature only for the 07+?

If not can someone direct me to where I may be able to find instructions on how to do this?

I uploaded my phone book, and received a "Successful" screen. However, I can't find the numbers anywhere. All I could find in the manual was how to search. I tried searching for a name I knew was in there but it couldn't find it. Isn't there a list of names for easy dialing? What is the point of uploading if I can't see names/numbers?
