Bluetooth display - no name only number?

I have a 2008 non tech RDX. The bluetooth is great, but the display only shows the caller's number. Does the tech package or the 2009 model show the caller's name as well?

I did a search but didnt see any post on this. Excuse me if there was one.

I have a 2007 Tech and it only shows phone number and phone battery level. I doubt there's any change in the 2009 model.

I just called my local dealer. He said that in the tech pkg, you maybe able to assign names of numbers in your system, thru the nav screen. Anyone know that this is true or have done it?

you can program a # in the car by name - so instead of saying the number, you say "HOME" and it will call the number linked to the name.

but this is not done thru the phone itself, its stored on the system, so you would have to put the number in the car system and they store it as a name -- maybe thats what he was talking about.

not sure about the nav system but i dont think BT works any differently.

okay, so if I understand correctly, you can have a name show up in the RDX's screen when a call comes in, instead of or as well as the caller's number?

neither - im not 100% sure about the nav system, id look at the book

ive never seen a name pop up or something like that - what i was talking about was storing your phonebook on the system by using voice notes (instead of speach dialing, just saying home, or mom etc)

Aah, gottcha. That's what I do now. I was hoping that like other lux vehicals, we had the higher end bluetooth set up that can import the names from our phones. oh well.

I think the HFL is completely separate from the Nav system. That's why the RDX has two voices. It's a little weird. I have the male voice for HFL and the female for the Nav (thank you Alpine for removing the male voice...grrr).

The 2009 TL can import multiple phonebooks via BT and it displays incoming/outgoing caller's names. I'm sure the RDX will get this someday.

Bluetooth

I own a 2009 tech package, and no the name does not show up. Only the number will show. However you can store numbers and give it a name. So let us say you store xxx number and give it a name "office". You can later say call "office" and system will dial the number for you- advantage is you don't have to remember all the numbers.
