It's probably gonna take more proof than showing a picture.

a picture wont do anything..

if ny has the same laws as Cali where you have to go to a local sheriff dept to get it written off, then your Shit Outta LUCK.

pay 40 bux, get the tint taken off, pay the ticket, then get it re-tinted.

thats what i did, took care of everything for less than 100 bux..

How did you get your tint removed, re-installed, and pay a ticket for less than $100?

remove - 40 bux

ticket - 25 bux (in cali, mines was 25 processing fee)

retint - 40 bux for both front windows.

so yea.. $105 i guess.. more or less.

or you can save yourself money and remove the tint yourself.. ive done it, its a pain in the ass but with a blade and some goo-gone you can do it.

well here is your first issue..

will your "TINT SHOP" issue you a "FAKE" receipt stating a tint removal. Know that if anything goes wrong in court, your tint shop is held liable for falsifying invoices.

at a business owner stand point, i would not put the company in such responsibility for $40.00

try it out. im not sure how strict NY is but in cali, no one will do it for you. and its required to go to a precinct

Must be nice...a ticket here, I'm told, will run $180. And, the PO may take out a blade and make you remove on the spot, only without a blowdryer or goo-gone handy, all you end up doing is damaging it to the point that he knows you'll get it removed properly. There's no "remove it and the ticket goes away" system either...you get the ticket, either pay it or fight it.

I didn't have a say...the guy I bought it from had already tinted them. And they are dark...about as dark a tint as I've ever seen. I'm surprised I haven't been nailed yet. For such a nice guy, the previous owner must have been a dealer or something.

That said, for reasons I can't explain, I've been avoiding having them (the side windows) de-tinted. Probably will in the summer.

For now, the tint is helping me break my habit of "gesturing" at other drivers who displease me.

you'll never have any problem at 35% tint. Tint is a must have for me in Houston summer.

This is very stupid - if they find out that you didn't remove the tint you are going to be royally screwed. My friend tried to stupidly to the same thing - he showed them a photo of his car without the tint - they asked to walk to the car and look to confirm (which still had the tint) - they slapped him with a $500 fine - and told him to remove it again.

Just remove the tint - you broke the law - you got caught - you don't want to make it worse for yourself.

I don't agree with the law - but the path you're taking is silly (and voicing on a public forum you're going to break the law is even worse)

Pete some of like to go all or nothing . If the officer/judge asks to inspect your vehicle tell them you took public transportation since you work in the city. When I fought my tint ticket on a technicality the judge asked me if I had them removed since, I told him yes but didn't bring the receipt since the court date was set well after 30 days that the ticket was issued. He said "I'll take your word on it" and dismissed it based the technicality. I support your idea; do you need a picture of a CBP without tints and your plate, or just one without tints?

I had 35% all around and got a ticket, it's just not worth the hassle of having to pay for tints Pay for a ticket them pay to remove them. I feel sorry for those guys who pay 200 to 300 hundred for tints and them getting hassled by police. Save your money and don't do it because the city is after money and with tints we are targets.

Depends on jurisdiction; where I live, no tint forward of the middle pillar (so, in other words, nothing on the front windows) is permitted.

In NYC I have seen cars with tints on the rear only, but the day I go ticketed I had my front windows down and he wrote the ticket for rear windows only. Does anyone know if in NYC is it legal to have tint on the rear?

ive had this ticket 3x and each time it has cost me a 75$ fine. i just pay attention to my radar and open my sunroof to let light into the interior when a cop is nearby. 75$ for a fine almost 1x year is okay with me

Sorry OP- but we cannot let this thread continue so that you can commit a fraud upon the court.
