Planning on getting a 2010 TL

I had been a 1997 2.5 TL owner for 15 yrs then came a stall issue which I could not and sold it.
I’m in the market for a 2010 TL and there are some I have found with reasonable low mileage, for example 20k to 40k, in the price range just below 25k. I am not too keen about the Bluetooth, backup camera or navigation right now. I know I can get aftermarket products if I feel the need in the future.
I am thinking of getting the 2010 TL 3.5 and my max price is 25k.
Any advice or thought? Does 2010 TL have any major recall?

dont get a tl unless you are getting the tech..

just my personal opinion.. with the tech you a lot of convient things.. keyless start, keyless handle unlock entry, sound system, back up camera, trunk unlock button on wing, tech wing, higher quality leather and navi.

nothing aftermarket will substitute the tech package as nice as the oem one.

pay alittle more, get a better car.. just my take on this

You tell him pot, everything pot said its just the plain truth. A TL without tech is like getting a Honda accord, there a member here selling his 2010 AWD 6 speed his name is ag surfer and the car looks clean as hell and to mention it again its a 6 speed a very rare car.

I agree! IMHO, depending on where you live, your driving style and what thrill you seek in your car, you can do without the SH-AWD, like I did. However, the tech package includes features without which I find it hard to justify spending $25K on a pre-owned car. Sorry for sounding trite, but as far as the 4G TL goes, go big or go home. LOL. Tech all the way!

yea i can live without sh-awd as this is a daily.. so fwd works for me as i dont race or even drive it hard.. but i do need the luxury things that come with the tech as i DAILY the car.

why buy a car if your not going to enjoy its luxuries.. base is no luxury.. i rather get a used tsx tech then a used base tl assuming they cost roughly the same price anyways

Totally agree. Better sound system, better upholstery, nav, backup camera. IMO the backup feature alone is well worth it. Most useful feature I've had on a car in a long time.

Agree with everyone's posts. Had the SH-AWD with Tech Package and all the bells & whistles are well worth the extra money.

I would say that you should test drive both cars Fwd and the Sh Awd and make a decision based on your personal preference and options that you find important to you.

Push button start is appealing .

Thank you all for some great advice.
Majority rules, so I will look into a TL w/ tech.
My first priority was to get into a TL, not from what I hear here, I need to go for a TL with tech.
The reason I was opting out was because w/o tech I could get a TL with 16k miles for under $25000.00. With tech, I am looking around 50k+ with same price.
Well, the search must go on.

I've got a 10 Tech and have had zero issues in my 2 1/2 years and 15k miles of ownership. Lease runs out in November and I may decide to buy it depending on what happens with the 5g. In any event definitely get the Tech and best wishes in your search.

I'm a big advocated of extended warranties, in your case considering how long you keep your cars it might not be worth it. If you purchase the car with 50k or more miles than it will be out of factory warranty and you will be unable to extend it. Lastly when you say 25K does that include taxes/title?

I am looking to spend 25k but that can go up a grand depending on situation.
I can pay 25k for the car and pay separately for tax and title.
