Bluetooth rejects pairing code- any way to reset the code ?

Hi guys. I have a 2012 TL that bluetooth worked fine on. I upgraded my Note 5 from Lollipop to Nougat OS and now it wont pair.
My car SEES the phone, and I do get a prompt to pair the handsfree link, it suggests I use pairing code 0000 or 1234 but every time I try it the car rejects the pairing code.
Frustrating AF. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I honestly never punched in a code , just waited for to pass by it. Basically always asked to check if it correct, however never punched it in - on my note 2 , 7 or LG V20
