My car just hit 42,000 miles. When should I change my transmission fluid?

 

Wrong section, this is the 04-08 section, but I think Acura rec 60,000 miles but many people around here will say to do it sooner.

 

I would do it every 10 k miles.

 

10k is a bit excessive lol. But i like your enthusiasm.

 

I'd do it every 30k

 

I have a 2013 with 33K miles I did a transmission fluid drain and fill at 15K and 30K miles. Now in comparison Acura recommends this service every 60K miles if my memory serves correctly. My observations were that the magnetic drain plug was completed caked in metal bits that looked like a light sludge due to normal tranny wear and it was unable to hold any more which means metals were freely flowing thru the tranny, not a good idea for any auto tranny (frankly it scares me). Based on my experience, I will compete between 10K-15K miles regardless of what Acura says moving forward. Hope this helps.

 

i do it around 25k-30k max

 

Every other oil change, works about to 20K miles for me.
