i was at the dealer yesterday and asked the same question, also asked if he had any idea what they would look like, he told me he had been out with the rep the week before and after a few shots mentioned it would resemble the bat mobile, so take what you want from that but that's all i've heard

2009 TL Spyshot!
A spyshot potentially for the 2009 TL. I was so close to getting a 3G TL-Type S within this week, and after seeing the potential of the new one, I don't know anymore.
With 300hp+ and SH-AWD, I feel the price of the car is going to go up...a notch.

If this really is the next gen TL, I guess it confirms people's suspicions about the styling of the grill following that of the MDX...not sure how I feel about that.

I don't want to see it go the MDX route either (unless the grill is blacked out or something). hmmmm how would that look?

If they wanted an example to follow for the short rear trunk, they should have used the merc CLS...not the maxima.

Another bit of ugliness is on the grill, i really am hoping that acura does not adopt this shield through out the models....but knowing acura, they will force it on us....3G dual slot grill RULES!
Anyhow, i love those mags and i hope that it will fit my TLS...hehehe

WDP Director of R & D
Do we even no for sure its an Acura - besides the semi apparent front? Pretty drastic departure from the current TL/RL look...
If so, I agree with the GS comment above - and hope the "disguise" is just doing a really really good job of deceiving us......

well the maxima, infiniti M, and GS have that same kind of overall shape.
now i wonder if this car shape will have any indication what the next TSX will also look like.

Wow - looks like they are keeping the same overall headlight arrangement as the current TL, and for that, I praise Acura! Even the new Accord seems to be going the way of the lemming approach to staggered/raked headlights, over-emphasizing the projector aspect.
And the rear end - to me, it looks like the Infinity G35 rear, which is one of the nicest rear-ends around, and not like the Maxima '08, which sucks. The difference is subtle.
Overall, looks good!
Anyone know where these were taken? I've seen similarly decked out cars in Death Valley (test models). I've even seen cars with fake brand stickers on them, to confuse the spies ...eg, a ford with a VW sticker, etc.

I knew it....the 2009 TLs and TSXs are definitely going to have the ugly and big grill from the MDX. I bet the TL will have a MDX-like front-end, while the TSX will have an RDX-like front-end.

LOL dude the more i look at the rear picture, the more i feel like the "cover"/tarp is nothing close to what the actual lights look like. in fact, it possibly even looks like the tail lights may not have been changed by much at all, (mentally trying to visualize the space beneath the tarp.
what really caught my attention is the size of the inlets on the front bumper....it "almost" looks like it took some queues from the ron jon front bumper body kit.

wow i like it. If this is what the 4th Gen TL will be i think it is a good change from the 3rd gen. hmmmmmm think i will be gettin one of those things in fall of 08. Lets hope they put some new tech toys in this like they did when they released the 04 TL. Thats what will also be very important. Who cares how sexy the car is if all the toys inside arent up to par with the rest of the competition and doesn't have gadgets that make you go "oh shit are you serious? they put that in the new TL" or "damn the new TL is crazy fast and handles damn great"

I think the only thing that makes the rear look G35ish, is the shape of the clear spots over the taillights on the car cover.

Looks like it's equipped with SHAWD, note the yellow wire from the LR door heading under the car, I seem to remember seeing this on the RDX and MDX test mules before launch. I think it is some sort of rudimentary telemetry data cable. Also looks like those tails are some cheapo stick on LEDS to maybe add extra mask to the ass end design. Hopefully more pics surface now that we know they're testing. Only thing that sucks is if we get SHAWD i think it's safe to say that there will no longer be a 6MT option.
I hope the antennae is a factory installed option cause that thing is BADASS!! j/k maybe its for the flux capacitor.
