wow, this RL is supposed to be the new flagship in order to help Honda take on Toyota, the front end looks like an old Mazda 626 ... nothing like pushing RL sales further into the hole

I have a bad feeling about the new TL front grill after seeing the RL. That is just hideous! I will say something positive that about it that I hope will be a part of the new TL, the USB port and the 18" wheels.

i agree...i hope the new grille on the tl wont look even remotely close to the one of the new rl. it looks like a low class hyundai or something, not for me. now after seeing what the brilliant design team has done for the rl it can be assumed that it wont dovery well.. lets just hope the same morons didnt have much say in our new tl!!! omg i cant get over how hideous that grille is, i have sbeen sitting here in my dorm room for about ten minutes now trying to make myslef likeit but i simply cant.

Ive always given them the benefit of the doubt. But as god as my witness if that grill ends up on the TL I am not going to buy an NSX simply out of protest....

i loveee this 3rd generatrion tl...i didnt want any other car, i think it looks better than any car out there, and i had high hopes for the next gen telling my friends that its going to blow their minds, but from what i see now looks like im gonna have to ttake the back seat to there lexuses and audis...pshhh hate them

Oh Puhleeze Acura, Puhleeze don't use the RL as inspiration for the TL. To me the RL looks like last years RL with a Camry kit on it . Is that really a step in the right direction? Maybe the '09 TL will look like the 3G with a Corolla kit....

the chairman at acura should really look at acurazine and consider what we have to say, it would be there best bet... i know they couldnt do everythign we like such as approximately 350 horsies in my tl... but as far as designs like this grille they should take what we have to say into consideration

dont hold your breath. if they had been looking at AZ that car would not look like that. but we are the minority. Im sure someone out there will think that looks good.

honestly no. I think what made Acuras look so good were that grill and the aggressive look to the front end. I could care less whats on the inside. If the outside looks like shit I wont even get in it. Thats just me though. I feel more let down then anything. Ive been very anxious to see what they were going to do. I was not liking the MDX and I was hoping they would come through with the next model. If this is any indication of what the TL will end up like then they might as well start over.

Ive been looking at the RL now for the past hour and all I can say is that I am not happy with it at all. Im so unhappy I just emailed one the managers at my dealer lol

ewww no we have the same grillle as that rl.,,, you can claerly see they are the same from the camo. w/e im pissed im gonna try to get some sleeep now, but idk why but htis is reallly bothering me right now thus resulting in me not sleeeping. ill prolly be back on later lol just to loook at that ugggggggggly grille! night

im sorry but that is pathetic, besides a couple added peices of technology and a MDX engine its the same car but just fugly I actually like the current RL design just that the price doesnt seem to justify. Acura has always pushed the envelope but now they deside to hit a wall and give a mangeled POS in return.

Im sure the new TL will be the same situation.

Man, that is really an unfortunate turn of events with this RL release. I agree it bodes very poorly for the next TL.

It's really inexcusable at this point. Cadillac, Infiniti, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc have all come to market with their next gen entries in this class and have really raised the bar. I was hopeful that the next TL with the extra development time, would give us at least a competitive offering. This new RL suggests otherwise.

I suppose the new Accord should have been a big warning sign to us.

I was really hyped to see for the new Acura line, especially the 09 TL. But after the 09 RL pictures were released, I now have a good sense of Acura's design direction and I have to say I'm ready to go get a 08 TL. The "cow catcher" grill from the 08 MDX is plain ugly and I was hoping that Acura wouldn't use that grill design on their upcoming models. We've all seen the spy shots of what they call the 09 TL, which through the camouflage you can still see the resemblance to the 08 MDX and the 09 RL grill. I did some more research and I found spy shots of the 09 TSX, and it also resembles the 08 MDX and the 09 RL grill...really disappointing. They were on point when they introduced the 3G TL and the RDX but I'm really not feeling the new upcoming style.

Are you implying that the camo'd test mule is actually an RL mule? Or are you saying the RL and TL will have similar front ends?

Look at the trend. Audi, Cadillac, Chrysler. It's like some "master designer" said that if your make big, fugly, bright-assed grilles, your sales will increase.
