He's "spot on", fellas. I can't believe you would even question him, I mean REALLY... *scoffs*

Anyways, I love the new wheels! Remind me of Infiniti rims, which is a good thing in my book. Can't wait to see more spy spots as we get closer to the release date!

I hope the wheels aren't a dark color, YUK. Bright silver is best IMO. Why don't they

ever offer a wheel with a polished lip? If the car has only 300hp it will be slower due

to all the added weight of SH-AWD. The price will also make many people consider other

awesome cars in the higher price range.

I wonder just how much money is at stake should a camo test drive derail... maybe some overzealous paparazzi hijacks the car and publishes numerous pictures of an undressed vehicle... different scenarios possible.
While I'm sure that nobody can come up with even a rough dollar figure, your thoughts on how this could be calculated should be interesting. Also, what is the security like during such test drives?

Quite frankly, all of the luxury car lines are going to have to fend off some serious threats from GM in the next couple of years...the new CTS and G8 are damn nice cars.

Any Info On When?

Last Friday, we had our 2006 TL serviced at the dealership. While browsing around the showroom, I asked the salesperson about the 2009 TL's. For what it's worth, he said that they would have SH-AWD and the current RL engine. He also said they would be out mid-year (May or June). While I love our 06 TL, I would sure be tempted to see what new features the 09's will offer.

Source: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/s...uro-acura-tsx/

The article claims it's the new TSX, but that's definitely the new TL

Great new pictures!!!

I have been surfing the web every day, 1/2 day, hour to see if there is anything new.

I have also been looking at the Tokyo Motor Show site which is on at this time for any information from Acura.

I guess they will release info when they are good and ready :-(

on the flip

Its only a matter of time :-)

Well, while the camo is obviously doing it's job of hiding the details, I can't say that I'm impressed with the overall shape this new car is taking.

I think Honda is going to need to start letting loose with some details soon if they want people to hold out for this car. Everyone else has shown their hand for this round, and the competition (all the way down to that new Pontiac G8, even) is looking pretty stiff.

Clear tail lights and chrome around the windows. Aaah!! I love my TL without the window chrome makes it look sportier. Not sure if I like the lower bumper area either, the current TL has exhausts blended in nicely. What's the size of those wheels? If that BMW is standard on 16s these look like 19s. The wheel look like 18" A-Spec chrome. I did not like the new Accord which does look more aggressive yet more of a truck than a car from the front IMO and rear quarter panel off a 5-series. I hope they don't screw up the TL's prestige!

Interesting images! Look at the angled front headlights and rear headlights! Weird. Looking more like a Honda Accord by the minute. I dunno about having the 3rd brake light like that - not too aesthetically pleasing if you ask me.

Take a close look at the grill behind the white cover! It's a little high if you ask me. HAHA I think they're doing the opposite of what Cadillac and Audi are doing by keeping the front grill higher up.

Well, I'm notta fan so far. Geez, I hope this mule looks better in the future.

Keep up the good work on the pics 1OneLove!

I dont think I am going to like the new styling either. The top half of car looks like the top half of the MDX!!!!

I think the new TL is going to be like the new MDX. When they went from the 06 to the 07 MDX the styling i think went to shit, I think the 06 mdx styling was great, a few upgrades wouldve been perfect for the 07.

However the interoir on the 07 vs the 06 is a different story. The 07 MDX interior is awesome compared to the boring 06 MDX interior. The o9 TL i believe is going to share the same fate as the new MDX, the styling thumbs down, the interior / engine / handling ext thumbs up

just look at the top half of the car its like a boat

Personally, I think the new CTS is far too over-styled. Kind of like the new Camry. Like all other trendy designs, I think this one will fade really fast. The previous gen TL and TSX, on the other hand....those were subdued but very attractive designs.

Any new news? I've heard that the new TL will debut at the LA Auto show this weekend. Anyone know if this is true? I just got my back end destroyed by a semi, but not enough to total the car so I'm looking to get a new one in the next 6-12 months. I'm hoping for the 2009!!

If that were true, I think it would be an ultimate secrecy coupe for Honda/Acura. I don't think anyone expects to see an official unveiling until well into next year, especially for a 2009 model year launch.

We are only now starting to see what we think are heavily camoed versions of the TL running around now.

I'm trying to look closey underneath the chassis to see if there is the SH-AWD components. From looking at the design of the exhaust piping, it looks like AWD is more than likely with this TL.

Chicago is at the beginning of Feb, not March.
New York is at the end of March.

How credible is the spokesman? He/she is not a salesperson, right?

I'd guess the earliest you could put down a deposit would be sometime in fall 08 so don't hold your breath if you need a car quickly.

I think 300hp for the base model.
I've seen spy shots like this elsewhere. My thoughts are:

1- 2007-MDX-style Acura grille

2 - Larger body (think Nissan Maxima). Might even be like the 2008 Accord.
(However, just as the 3G TL was slighly shorter than the 2007 Accord, the 4G TL could be shorter than the Accord.)

It's funny because I though the idea of a TL was performance, not storage space. But since there are some buyers turned-off by the interior dimensions or trunk space, they probably want to enlarge it.

3 - Features: probably 300 hp, SH-AWD, $40K price.

There might be a 'de-contented' version FWD, high-30s, the same way Infiniti has a non-AWD G-series. Even though RWD would be a better setup for that, I picture Honda saving some $$ and using the FWD they've had before instead of trying to iinvent a RWD setup. The real question is -- would such a car insult the enthusiasts and be worth degrading the brand, in return for getting a few more (cheap) buyers.

4 - Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if they upgrade the TSX to a 240-HP Turbo-4, like the RDX, so there will still be something in the $30K price range. Maybe even soup it up to 255hp-260hp, so it's not too slow.

5 - Makes you wonder what the RL will become? Larger still?
Already, the 2008 Accord is the size of a 2008 RL.

This link is a fun read. It's a similar thread about the 3G TL while it was in testing. Lots of speculation about seeing rear differentials, larger rear rims, AWD, and a windshield blowing system instead of wipers (LOL). Just sayin'... It put things in perspective a bit. But I have no doubt the 4G will be AWD.

I like the throwback to the 3g guessing. It does throw some perspective! Air blowers instead of wipers - great! Leads you to think though, maybe they have some stuff in store for us that we never expected.

Other than 4" in overall length, isn't the RL pretty much the same size as the TL?

do you guys think that that picture could just be bait? i mean common.. the shape of the headlight cover CANNOT be the new shape of the 2009 TL headlights... they cannot go from the 3G sleek headlight to that bulge. think about it. if this TL is gonna be 3.7 then it has to compete with the g37. i would hope that acura would know better than to put the rdx grille on a sedan that theyre probably going to list at 40k+.. i think these spyshots are close but far from what they're gonna put out in the market... it has to be.. acura dont let me down
