What lugs is everyone using with these wheels? I could not use my Muteki SR48 slim socket because it was making contact with the walls of the lug holes, so I had to find a different socket. Also, I couldn't use the SR48 locks because the key was way too thick and wouldn't even fit in the lug holes. Any suggestions?

Gorilla locks are pretty thin (the lock) if you were local, I'd let you try mine.

These are the exact ones I have. I bought Muteki for my previous wheels and they are just not worth it as the paint strips off them easily.

Thanks for the link. I like the idea of the center-driven lugs. Definitely solves any rubbing issues, but I wish there were center-driven locks as well...I gotta keep researching...

I figure the wheels are so cheap, why even bother with wheel locks.

Yes, with a little heating they will.

The pics Joh posted in here he didn't have the center caps on. If you look at pics in his progress thread he has them installed. They are a little bit different looking than what most center caps look like though.

But yes, as TLDude said, if you want to use the Acura center caps you'll have to heat them.

I actually have the supplied XXR center caps on my wheels right now, but I did not put on the XXR logo sticker. Luckily they are separate so you can choose whether or not you want to put the sticker on. Here's a better look at the center cap without the sticker:

Ahhhh, so that's why the center caps looked different to me. You didn't put the sticker on them. I thought they just came plain like that from the beginning.

John, Gorilla lugs are pretty skinny. You can prolly fit them in....

I use athletes tape on the lug nut removal tool so that it doesnt scratch my rims....and recently learned from Aaron, to use a plastic bag so that it doesnt scratch the lugs....

dont be a fool, wrap your tool

You have to heat the Acura center cap. I think someone asked this in the thread on one of these pages, but without going through 11 pages to find it on my slow connection at work. If I remember correctly, you have to heat the center cap and take your time working it into these rims.

The Acura center cap must be a little bit bigger so in order not to break the tabs that hold it in place you have to heat them a little so the flex easier going into the center hole of the XXR rims.

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, I tried wrapping some tape around it, but the space is so tight that the tape started rubbing off almost immediately.

Thought I had read through this thread enough and didn't need spacers for the 18x8.75 +35. Then I saw a post where someone said they need 7mm on the 527's.

Just waiting for some more people to chime in.

Ouch. Are your Brembos damaged now? That does seem strange considering so many people have said that it will fit, but thinking back, I can't remember who is actually running +35.

I'm curious though...why not just get these wheels in +20 offset since most people have definitely proven that's what fits best on our cars??

Yeah they are scratched up a little. The clear was chipping off anyway, so I was going to repainted at some point.

I didn't want to go with the +20's cause I'm not that low, don't want to run too much camber and I don 't want a poke or stretch. I had +29 Advans that was a good fit, so I figured the +35's wouldn't be that bad.

Now just trying to figure out if I can go with a 5mm spacer or if I have to use a 7mm.

you will need a 6mm to barely clear and 7mm for a perfect fit....+20 would have cleared them by a mile LOL

PS: I was going from the offset of your Advans....if +29 fit well, you are at +35 which doesnt fit, you need a 5mm-7mm spacer to barely clear....i would do a trial fitment with some washers (each washer is ~1mm) and then buy a spacer accordingly

AcuraIntegTL is running the +35 offset, I sent him a PM over the weekend and am awaiting a response. I don't think he is running spacers with it but not sure. man this really throws a wrench in the mix, i was just about to purchase the +35 (don't want poke) but will wait now. if a spacer is really needed guess i'm going to have to stick to my stock waffles

I see what you're saying, but the 8.75+20's don't poke. Only the 9.75+20's poke if you put them on the front....9.75+20 doesn't poke in the rear, it's flush.

have you tried reinstalling or messing around with the bolt up? every wheel offset calculator i've tried says that the inner clearance should be the same unless i'm typing something in wrong (8" +45 -> 8.75" +35)

What do you guys think of these in 17x8.25 +25? Think they should clear the brembos?
