Just got mine today, they look fantastic. I'll post pix tonight (because this thread doesn't have enough pix).

Beautiful.

I guess the part # was originally 880A instead of 200D.

Mine came yesterday, but I wasn't here to sign. Now I'll have to wait until Monday. Not a big deal, they're going to collect dust anyhow until I wear out my current 17" tires...
#248
FedEx customer service told me that mine were coming "indirect signature required", but when the delivery guy showed up he said they were sent "no signature required".

I'd really like to know where all of these wheels have been? Sitting in a warehouse? Sitting in a dealer? Sitting in Japan? Also, how/why did they sell them so i expensively? I thought the A-Spec wheel/tire package on the 3rd Gens were about a $2200 option an you didn't get your stock wheels back (usually). Maybe I'm just too skeptical because of their street-value and how difficult they are to come by. I mean, beat to shit sets all curbed up sell for double what we paid!
I understand the whole 'liquidation' and freeing up capital for whoever had these... But if they knew their value, why weren't they listed for $1000/set on eBay?
Wonder what I can get for my set? With brand new tires? $1500? More?? (Not that I'm sellin them... My replicas will be offered once this blizzard snow clears out)

^^I've put up mine for 1300 CAD, without tread. Just seeing what's the interest out there.

1. Dealership buys non-returnable parts from manufacturer.
2. Dealership goes out of business.
3. Investor buys entire parts dept stock for pennies on the dollar (and I do mean pennies).
4. Investor takes the time, and puts forth the effort to sell parts on Ebay or the like, making decent money on each sale.
Sometimes the investor will need to recoup some of their investment by liquidating some large expensive stock.
We bought these wheels for nearly what the investor bought them for. They still made a profit, they always do, they're investors, but it was minimal.
I have seen this happen with many dealerships, especially exotic ones.
#253
I don't think MagAuto bought 1 parts department, they probably bought a lot of them. I have a friend that could find cost on these wheels, but I'm certain it's more than what we paid, so they had to buy them from a dealership going out of business, it's the only way I know to get them that cheap.

Not to be a douche- but if that is true, I'll ask the same question again---- where the hell are all of these wheels sitting? Are they still being manufactured? If they get this 'deal' once a year, why wouldn't they price the wheels are current market value- which is at least double what we paid for them- and just keep a continuing rotating stock?
I'm not complaining at all- I was fortunate enough to get a set...

Looking at their other auctions, I see that the TSX chrome wheel is only finished on the front. I wonder if they tried to save weight, or the finish is actually painted on. I also notice that they're listed as 08W17-SEC-200E, so the E must not be for Ebony as I had originally thought. I wonder if there is anyone among us that actually knows what the letters at the end of the PN mean. Probably not, hence the 11tybillion threads with them listed wrong.

This $400 deal plus center caps was a really a good deal esp for being new. The best deal I keep coming across is 4 refurbs for $550 shipped. I think $600-650 usd is fair for these without tires/tpms/or balancing & install of tires.
The way I see it is when you start getting higher than that for an OEM wheel, you're better off going with aftermarkets with better widths and offsets. You'll save on having to get spacers too.

Wow, I'm late in finding this thread... Got my beat-up set in the same color for $700 last April, thought I had it good then! This makes me sad now.
I might be biased, but Sparkle Silver looks exceptional on SSM, and the exterior and wheels match really closely in color... Old phone photo of my TL included for reference.
**mod edit by ggesq** jo-nathanpham- if you'd like, you can place a WTB thread in the Black Market in the Off Topic section of the forum.

Congrats to all you that were able to buy these wheels for such a great price! In my opinion it was one of the best upgrades I did to my car when I purchased my A-specs! I wish I could have gotten them for that cheap.

Yours now for only $840!

I'm not sure what the re-seller is thinking if the intent was to flip, not many that recently saw these sell sub $400 shipped are going to turn around soon thereafter and buy these for twice that...lol. IF the re-seller would just wait a month or two, he'd get his original asking price.
This guy would have better luck with a local sale in Craigslist.
I'm sure most of those watchers are us.
I don't think it's far fetched at all to have this amount sitting in a regional warehouse or at a dealership, especially one that seems to serve a large region with no other Acura dealer for hundreds of miles.
The guy obviously has a business selling near obsolete or discontinued Honda/Acura parts & accessories. I've no doubt he gets inventory on an annual basis; next years batch may very likely be the 2006 A-Spec wheels and other related 2006 Honda/Acura items. Where it runs on a continuing, ten year liquidation of assets. I'm sure many other dealerships do the same, it could even be mandated by Honda/Acura of America. I'd bet money on it being an annual liquidation, likely regional.
You guys aren't going to see this guy sell any more A-Spec wheels sub $400 with the amount of attention he's been shown with purchases and inquiries. (Rule #1 - Never call the store about a deal that might be too good to be true)
The guy likely buys a lot, meaning wrapped up shipping pallets/crates or similar, and he buys everything sight unseen. He's not going in there and shopping for individual items. Nor is he given a heads up by an inside guy to come get them, the inside guy would just flip items themselves if one existed.
Making space available for 2016 vehicle accessories far outweighs management's valuation of the 2005 stock...that space is worth a LOT. All designed and part of an annual routine set in motion by their corporate head bean counter...inventory capitalization costs, overhead costs, etc. would be the official been counter lingo.
I don't know Acura's capitalization policies, but piecing together the info obtained, it appears to be an annual process, and their in-house value was likely on par with what they liquidated them for.

To further this assumption, these likely came from the closest Honda/Acura warehouse, where we often have to wait a few days extra on purchases when an item isn't in stock locally.
I'd say with confidence that the decision to sell these items to the eBay Seller was not a singular dealership decision and was made by corporate suits.
I didn't read the other reply about your inquiry, couldn't make it past the "Let me explain it" ...lol
This guy is NOT going to tell anyone, anything about how to reduce the food on his plate. He'd be a fool too.
I once made contacts with local representatives of nationwide companies of collectibles I used to spendthrift on. The individuals that would set-up store displays in Walmart, Toys R Us, etc. I had wanted ads for information on how to contact these individuals and did a lot of leg work, in the end I wedged between them and the middle man and was able to have items funneled to me directly instead of buying on the re-seller's market. It can be done, but it's no small task.
If anyone expects to intercept this guys stash next year, also expect to put in a LOT of legwork. And to be on the radar of a very pissed of guy. Nobody, in my opinion, should have contacted this guy about the way he runs his business.
Thanks to everyone for not PMing me...except that one guy.

Here's their 2014 annual report ending in March 2014.
http://world.honda.com/investors/lib...14ar-all-e.pdf
You'll see the inventories listed as current assets (within would be OEM Honda/Acura parts & accessories, as well as other inventories) and vehicles on current lease (new vehicles on dealer lots...I suppose).
Note the above amounts in their annual financial report is Yen in millions.

That, along with VisualEchos response are both very plausible and could be spot on or way off.
I really don't know.... What I DO know is that mine are all waxed up and waiting to be put on.
I asked mostly out of curiosity
