Yeah, I'm wondering if the Seller actually had 20 sets of the same identical wheels and just listed them as 08W18-SEP-200D for ease of listing them.

Found a nice thread here with more about the colors and TPMS on this '05 wheel:

The whole Acura wheel color thing is jacked up, and there is so much misinformation floating around here. To top it off, Acura, like most companies, have more than one part number for the same item because it was changed in some minute way and superseded. What we need is an Acura parts guy on the board to clear things up. Hell, I want the Ebony finish, but really, I have never seen it printed as Ebony, it could be Euro, or anything else starting with an E.

FedEx updated the shipping status, mine will be here by the end of the day tomorrow.

Looking forward to opening up 16 boxes and seeing what the OP did.

Will tell the wife on the way out the door tomorrow .

Now that I look at it, I don't see that we have any choice, all the other colors are discontinued.

Sparkle is all that's left (unless these have been sitting somewhere for quite a while).

That's very quick, can't wait till you and others start posting pics when you receive them. I was like a kid at Christmas opening these, getting happier and happier with every box lol

A.) What Acura intended as the OD (25.4")
B.) Where the tire isn't stretched or bulging (square shoulder)
C.) Tire weight
D.) Tire aspect ratio (sidewall height)

B and D are personal preference.

The 255/40/17 has a 25" sidewall, which is a bit shorter, and better in most eyes. The 255/40/18 has a 26" sidewall, which is taller, and worse in most eyes.

I asked. Nothing back yet. Fingers crossed.

Its frustrating seeing this thread though..I seriously have been looking everyday for a set of these at a reasonable price. And somehow i miss this thread..fml.. Im assuming anyone who bought more than one set is looking to make a large profit..

I just got my confirmation as well. These boxes are being shipped Indirect Signature Required, so if you're not going to be there to sign, anyone can sign, or you can leave a note for the driver to leave them there with no signature at all (the note is your signature). I called FedEx to confirm.

Mine will be delivered today between 2 and 6pm. No signature required.

I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve right now.

I can't wait to see what is in the boxes.

The one thing that sucks is that (1) I haven't decided on tires yet and (2) were supposed to get pounded with some significant snow this weekend which remnants will last for at least a week damnit.

Someone has already asked to buy my Type-S's.... I also want a fresh 4 wheel alignment when these go on too. Luckily, I'll be saving some cash by mounting and balancing myself at my boys shop.

Does it have something to do with a delivery history for the address? When the Type-S wheels and tires were delivered, they both required a signature. When I had my Nexus 6P delivered a few weeks ago, no signature. A-Specs, no signature.... Odd

May have to do with order size (2 sets). Did anyone else who ordered more than one set have "direct signature required"?

It's not my address. I'm semi-rural and UPS/Fedex leave packages regularly..

I, unfortunately, ordered only 1 set, and had them shipped to my home. Again, thinking UPS, which shows up at 6:00 pm when I'm already home. Had I known that they would ship FedEx (which shows up at completely random times) I would have had them shipped to my work.

B and D are personal preference.
I just threw that info and thread out for reading and to show what is possible and has been done. I'm not forcing anyone to do anything they aren't comfortable with.

A) The OEM size has an overall diameter of 25.33, based on what I'm seeing but no big deal when we are talking one tenth or seven one hundreds. The 255/40/18 is 26.03, so seven tenths of an inch. Meaningful? Important? - Depends on who you ask. Some folks like a "beefier tire" that fills the wheel wells or want a wider tire and compromise with a larger overall tire. Personal preference
B) Agreed personal preference, but if you read some of the thread I posted (I know it's a long read) I don't think anyone had any negative experiences/impact by going to the 255/40/17 size. In fact IIRC, there was one AZine member who mounted 265/35/17 tires. That isn't something I personally would do, but did have and enjoy the 255/40/17 on my 04 TL.
C) Not sure this is necessarily valid as tire weight not only varies by size, but also by manufacturer and model. If an owner replaced his/her OEM tires with the same 235/45/17 tires, but switched to Pirelli, Dunlop or Continental, there can easily be a 2-4 lb difference when brand new depending on the tire and it's construction.
D) Agreed personal preference, but the 255/40 has a shorter sidewall and you get better turn in and tire response. The trade off is a more harsh ride as the tire transmits more of the road irregularities. It doesn't have as much sidewall to absorb shock.

Not sure if you are mixing up terms, dimensions or both here, but the 255/40/17 and the 255/40/18 have the exact same sidewall height of 4.02". The overall diameter of the wheel will vary, but part of that is because the rim sizes are different. If you went to an 18" rim and tried to keep the overall diameter of the wheel the same you would need to mount a 235/40/18, which is/was the OEM size tire for the A-Spec rims.
You could probably mount 24" or larger rims if you wanted, but if you aren't willing to change the overall diameter, your tires are going to look like rubber bands
Again a lot is personal preference and changing rims, tires and tire size is part of modding one's car. Not everyone is going to agree and again just threw this info out there to show what is possible and has been done.

I'm not mixing up terms, or dimensions, I simply stated OD as sidewall, which is obvious given the size. And it appears you like to argue for the sake of argument, or to simply read what you write. In any case, I won't be participating. Have a great day .

You're welcome man, glad I can help a few members out. I'm always trying to find the best deal for parts and this may be one of my best purchases yet.

As far as the signature goes my shipment stated that it didn't require one either. My brother was home and I forgot to ask him if he did sign anything. I bet it's because of the amount purchased since it's a nice chunk of cash.

Totally agree. After reading all that, I am probably going to go with the 255/40/18. By my calculations, it will cause the speedometer to read 1.66 MPH low, something I can live with.

Correct, the 255/40 size will cause both the speedo and odo to read a little low.

I just got a price for Sumitomos at $99/ea through the shop. I installed these on an Accord over the summer and they were really nice tires. So, I'd be into a completely new set of 18's, mounted and balanced, for under $800. This is almost unbelievable

Wife signed for them and they both went over a shipping list to make sure all were there. Fedex guy joked that "the husband must like wheels." Neighbor noticed the boxes and slowed their roll too.

Anyway, I received mine about 3:30pm today; I'll be busy opening each to make sure they're isn't anything wrong with them or missing pieces and then seal them back up.

Gorgeous wheel, love the color. I may now have a tie between my favorite TL wheel now .

EDIT - I'm not looking to quickly turn around and flip these and very well may use the other two sets on our other Honda...the price was just too good for OEM nicer looking 18" and being a Honda guy, knowing these will fit a multitude of Honda/Acura vehicles, it made sense to me to grab the remaining four. I couldn't believe any remained after the day it took me to follow-up with this thread AND the fact the OP posted confirming pictures...just WOW. You can see how long it took me to decide by looking at the lapsed time between the last two purchases. I was hoping, briefly, that someone would buy another set so I wouldn't have to buy the remaining four.

EDIT 2 - The first edit was so I wouldn't get a swamp of PMs, please respect.

Thank you again OP!!!

The jury is still out if I'll use that size for my winter/snow tires/wheels. 255's might be fine with dedicated snow tires, dunno. I have probably 2 more winters before I have to decide.

For those of you who missed out, message the seller via Ebay and express your interest. The info I received was that their Acura dealer can only get these once/year. When I asked why just once/year, she didn't know. I told her to go back to her dealer and tell him he could probably unload another 20 sets this week. Waiting to hear back.

The more folks who ping the buyer, the more likely they might be to work a deal. Good luck!!

Holy shit, Aspec heaven lol. I'm kicking myself for not picking up an extra set but kudos to you sir. Even though I posted the confirmation pics I'm sure the rest of the buyers will rest easy knowing exactly what's coming to them.
