For those of you who missed out, message the seller via Ebay and express your interest. The info I received was that their Acura dealer can only get these once/year. When I asked why just once/year, she didn't know. I told her to go back to her dealer and tell him he could probably unload another 20 sets this week. Waiting to hear back.
I finally got an ebay message back from them, and they told me the same thing...
"Good afternoon, unfortunately, we are sold out of those and since these are specialty wheels we will be unable to get more of that particular set for some time. We do, however, have a few other vintage Acura/Honda wheel that we are currently selling if you would like to take a look at those.
The jury is still out if I'll use that size for my winter/snow tires/wheels. 255's might be fine with dedicated snow tires, dunno. I have probably 2 more winters before I have to decide.

The more folks who ping the buyer, the more likely they might be to work a deal. Good luck!!
Not sure I would use 255 for a winter set up. Narrower is better in the snow to sink in and reach the road surface. Think bicycle tire vs. snowshoe, but its obviously your call.
It's too bad we can't get the other colors or even the 8.5" size
I'll go weigh one in a bit. I was actually surprised about how light they felt and wanted to weigh one at some point.
Pretty sure I received the "display" as the inside packet for the door stickers, owner's manual addition, and the center caps and valve stems were open, prob to see what these were, but most of these were just floating around the box and could have fallen out / been pulled out so I checked them all. Every one was complete.
I thought they were in the neighborhood of 30 lbs, but with so many floating around unmounted, it'd be cool to get confirmation.
If they're 30 lbs they'd be the only set of 18's I've seen that heavy. A light set of 18's is 18 lbs, and an extremely heavy set would be 26 lbs. I'm betting they're around 24 lbs. I have a shipping scale that's accurate to the ounce and will weigh them when they come in.
On a side note, my Lotus wheels are 12.5 lbs front, and 13.5 lbs rear .
It's heavy, but that's expected from an oem wheel. The extra weight helps the wheel maintain its integrity for years and thousands of miles to come. At least you know it won't fall apart like rotas lol..apologies to rota owners
My fedex shipment says its 30lbs per piece, 4 pieces = 120lbs.
I'm sure, with the box. Mine says the same.

Curiously, I purchased the wheels on Sunday the 17th, the estimated ship date was Tuesday the 26th, and now shows Thursday the 21st. That's pretty fast shipping for $0 dollars. But we're getting ice and snow here, so I don't really expect them that day.
These wheels look fantastic!!! I love your tire selection. The tire size is a bit large for my style. I think I'm going to go with the factory spec tires 235-40-18 when I mount them in the spring.
Just stuck the caps on. Letting them sit until after the bad weather this weekend. Vinyl will be removed. Extremely happy with this. Current wheels to be listed on eBay.
And I had the 255's on their way when I thought a bit more about it.... 235 to 255 isn't significant, but I didn't want any rubbing issues or an issue that would piss me off and regret the 255's (which I know many members have mounted without problems) so I called back and went with the 245/40's
Honestly, not sure why everyone chases the 8.5's...there's a different in outer edge, but at first glance, these are fucking sexy. Especially at 400 bucks.
Can't wait to see them on NBP? SHiet...I've never seen them on anything but NBP!
Not to off topic but what year gsx-r do you have, TL-Gixxer? I have an '05 R6
Waayyyyy back in 2003 when I registered here, I had my 03 ABP Type-S along with my 02 GSXR750. That was after a long line of motorcycles.... I've since moved on and sold the 02 it went like:
- 03 Yamaha Warrior
- 06 Road King (still have)
- 99 R6 (had along with the RK. Sold it a couple years ago with 9k mi)
But my legacy list is:
- 79 KZ650
- 87 Honda Hurricane CBR600F
- 93 GSXR750
- 96 ZX6R
- 98 CBR900RR
- 99 R1

The 235/40-18 was the OEM size, but as you'll see, there isn't much meat (sidewall height) with the 235. The OEM Michelins in 235/45-17 were 25.7" tall, so the 245/40-18, while providing a little more sidewall height, ends up the same OD as the Michelins.
In fact, the 18" wheel when compared to the 17" base wheels, split spoke design, same width 8", a harder ride, tires cost more (@ $30 more p/tire), and the probable damage to the wheels increase significantly, so be cautious when increasing wheel diameter.
In fact, the tires shown mounted, Sumitomo HTR A/SP02 are an extra load rated tire with a load range 97 that equates to a gross weight of over 3 tons. Combine this load range and short sidewall and the ride will be far from comfortable.
Just a glance at the sidewall height:
OEM 235/45-17-4.3" OD 25.7"
245/40-18 3.9" OD 25.7"
235/40-18 3.7" OD 25.4"
Also, although most don't pay any attention to specs, the 255/40-18 is to be installed on 8.5"-10" wheels.
Just choose the tires carefully as they can make or break the ride/handling quality.
