With the DWS at sears the availability depends on the store. I tried ordering them online for the 5% discount but they are on 'national backorder' until October. I called one of the stores and they got a set sent in 4 days for $128/tire + ~$85 for installation.

I'm up to 10k miles (yes Ive been driving a lot) and they are still perfect. I'm not sure why people are complaining about noise/comfort on the highway...this car rides smooth as hell IMO.

+1, I drove up to Canada last month (1200 mile round trip) with 4 people in the car without a single issue concerning ride quality/road noise. Mind you mine have been on the car since last October and have 20k+ miles on them.

I've had Continental ExtremeContacts on my TL since last September and they are fantastic. I've never had any problems with my car slipping while driving, even when I make quick maneuvers in a parking lot (like when someone is about to hit me and I have to launch away). For the price they can't be beaten, and the tread is very durable- I have yet to change my tires, and I've put them through almost 20,000 miles, including two road trips to California (from here in Utah) and back.
Not to mention the tread pattern on the sidewall is sweet...people notice it and they always call them "shark tires".
The only complain I have is that they don't hold tire shine as well. Which isn't a big deal for me personally, but it might be for some people.
For availability, using the dealer locator on Continental's website can be hit and miss. I live in northern Utah so I'm about two hours away from a city where I know I could find them easily so it's annoying if I want to find them up here. But I went to the Honda dealership up here for a diagnostic and I noticed that they stoked them for about $130/tire installed, which was a killer deal compared to everything else I've heard. Definitely check around at the dealerships because you can at least find those in your area without going on a full-fledged witch hunt.
PSURob12- with your question, about nitrogen-filled tires, everything I have seen and read tells me it's a gimmick. It's just another ploy to sucker uninformed consumers to pay more for a service that has neglible benefits and isn't really scientifically supported. Filling your tires with nitrogen instead of air is ridiculous in and of itself, considering that 78% of the air we breathe IS nitrogen. Just that fact alone tells me it's a gimmick.
Not to mention that when you go to the gas station to add air to your tires, you're not "topping it off" with 100% nitrogen so you are negating any benefit it has (which again, I don't think there is).

Conti's are the way to go.
Extreme Contact DWS on my '08 Type-S are the tires this car should have been delivered with. For the price of one set of Conti's ($126 / tire) vs. MXM4s ($279/tire) the math makes the decision easy. Have just a few thousand on the DWS's so we'll see as they age. Way better than the MXM's in the wet so we're looking forward to the snow!!

^^ if they ever made tires specifically for good handling in rainy conditions then these tires would be on top of the list. I have never had hydroplaning issue with these and they grip just as good in rain as they would in dry conditions.

got a set of 4 DWS tire 235/45/17. Total cost including $52 shipping fee is $475.
Where is the best place to install them? Do I have to install them in Acura dealer who has the Road Force machine for balancing ($120) or just go to Walmart ($60)?

That's a great price! In fact, the best price I've seen: $416 plus shipping. The SEARS price of $540 was for 245/45/17 but did not include installation.

A few hours ago I got a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS 245/45R17 tires for $643.73 out of the door from a local shop, Curry's Auto of Chantilly, who matched the online price from Sears. That's $119.70 for the tire, i.e. $478.80 for all four.

Looking at the tire fitted, it appears to be just right to me. Handling seemed fine during the fairly short and uninteresting drive home.

After chiselling away the majority of the brake dust to reveal all the scrapes, scratches, dings, rust stains and accumulated damage, I snapped these as requested.
Only while editing the photos did it occur to me that I missed the low front and rear shots which show the interesting profile for tires. I'll have to add them later, but for now here's how good lighting and Anthracite Metallic can make a dirty car look clean.

Full of water...
I just picked up a set of the DWS (245/40/18) last week for my aspecs. So far I like but they do look different, not use to the rubber popping out farther than the rim. Things are improved but I can owe most of that to the fact that I was on older tires, so, stopping should improve. I do find at slow speeds that the car tends to "stick". Not sure if these are just stickier tires, or if its the release agent or whatever is on the rubber from the factory, or again a fact that I was on older worn tires..but when i am driving slow (5-15mph) when i attempt to give it a little gas the car seems to hesitate in getting the tires going. At first I thought "how the heck could my trans go after a 45min tire visit", but after testing the car at other speeds its appears to be more a "tire sticking" issue than a trans. Anyways, these things are nice so far and hopefully I will have a better idea of their performance after 1k miles or so. The one negative review about these was the turn in/ handling issues, which right now seems to be accurate. But again I will see. Could be due to the rubber or to the added size, just cant tell yet.

The dealer says my 06 TSX's lack of grip is the 225/50-17 (on 7") DWS tires (instead of OEM 215/50-17) and the Progress RSB I added to try to dial out some of the understeer that the DWS tires brought on. At least with the new RSB the car doesn't not squeal around rediculously slow corners anymore. Note that the nominal sidewall of the 245/45 some people here are using and my 225/50 only differs by 2.5mm.
An alignment last week revealed one wheel was a bit out, but there is still understeer, and a general lack of grip, and I get axle tramp in second in mild/normal starts going uphill from a stop, with VSA off in the wet, and in first gear in the dry!

I'm now in the market for some new tires. I want to jump out of the moving vehicle every time I get in my car and here the roaring of the tires and the rattling from the slight "wobble" that I get... UGH. It really makes it IMPOSSIBLE for me to enjoy my car- which I otherwise like. I'm definitely going with the Continental DWS's... with the great price and good feedback the deal is pretty much sealed. Keep the opinions coming- they help A LOT. I LOVE THIS SITE!!
Anyway, not to hijack but I have a question for anyone, but somewhat directed towards TURBONUT since he really seems to know his stuff about tires... and also seems to be an advocate for the 245/45-17 tire size.
What are the pros/cons of both the 245 and 235's. I've done a search, but it's hard to find anything definitive. I would love the look of a wider tire, but don't really know if I want a look that is somewhat "bloaty." Does that make sense? Right now I'm 60% for the 245's, 40% for the 235's. Can you help me decide for sure? I'm a little hesitant to go with anything other than the OEM recommendation. Thanks for the help!

Sorry, all pics besides the one I posted were with my pirelli pzero nero m&s, which were the smaller 235 width. And yes, these are 18". And like Turbonut stated, the 40 is a percentage of the width, so the sidewall would be 40% of 245mm. So if you increase or decrease the width the sidewall height will change accordingly.

blkaspec -- have you noticed that they develop flat spots rather quickly when the car sits for anything longer than a day or so? I have the identical setup--245/40/18 on aspecs and this is really the only complaint I have with them. It's either the tires or something else is going on with my car, because i do have a front end vibration that I can't seem to figure out.
