We wanted to update you all on the resolution we have worked out with ISC. It reads as follows:
Just a quick update from ISC:
Hello Acura customers,
This letter is coming directly from ISC Suspension North America.
First of all, I would like to thank you all for choosing ISC Suspension for your coilover solution. Excelerate Performance has informed me that some of you have been having issues with your coilovers. Just to summarize the reported issues:
04-08 Acura TL one of the top plates is inverted or the opposite bolt pattern that it should be. When we first talked about the Excelerate ISC Acura coilovers we sent an 04-08 TL to try out on a customers car. We found that there was a difference in how they should mount up. ISC NA sent to the factory the correct top plate. When they were made one of the plates was made as the original, incorrect plate. We have this sorted and will have 30 new plates for the 04-08 Acura TL’s sometime next week.
09+ Acura TL we have realized that the top plate has an extra bolt. If you are to tap out the extra stud on the 2 stud setup you should be able to mount these up no problems at all. This is being fixed looking into the future.
It has also been brought to my attention that some of the pillowballs look slightly different. There is no performance difference. However I am having 80 new sets of pillowballs delivered so every set can be uniform.
Please let Excelerate know if you spot any other issues so we can provide a solution as quickly as possible.
Now while these issues are prevalent and they can be quite frustrating you are only helping a small, growing company to improve and grow. These are the situations that separate a strong company from a fly by night operation. We are here to stay and grow to help you and many other customers into the future. ISC NA and Excelerate Performance will not rest until you are taken care of, trust that. This is a great quality suspension system and although we have had a small mishap this will be made right and you will all enjoy your new coilover systems.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and will see to it that this is made right!
Thank you,
ISC Suspension North America

Excellent communication by Excelerate and ISC. I am satisfied. I'll be returning my set and waiting for the new sets. I'm not in any huge rush. Hey, I get it: shit happens. It's much easier to forgive and move on when people own up to it and work to make it right.

On a side note, I'm not sure if you really have to return your set though. I believe the top hats and pillows balls they are remaking the correct way are going to be sent out to us. So if you're not in any rush you can still hold onto your set and then have those new pieces put on when you go to install them.

Install only took me two and half hours, I was really surprised how easy it was. I may of did something wrong tho, my front are maxed out and its not that low. My rears I can go about one and one half lower but I think I actually want to raise it up a inch or so. I deffently need to get in there and see whats going on, all the preloads are set to 170mm so i'm not sure what else could be wrong if anything is. heres a quick pic.
Quick edit: I forgot to mention my car is stripped so it sat a full inch higher than a oem tl.

Callahan, post some pictures of your front coilovers when you get a chance. Doesn't sound like you've adjusted them correctly. When you say they're "maxed out", what do you mean? Honestly, when I had mine at near max height, it sat lower than yours in the front. You should literally be able to go about 3" lower than where you sit now...

Remember when installing the coilovers you should pre-load the spring by adjusting the upper perches until hand-tight against he spring. You make your ride height adjustments through the lower portion of the shock. If you thread the lower portion all the way in (all the way up the threads) then it's fully lowered.

I actually placed this in another coilover thread but it should apply the same here as well in reference to correctly adjusting the coils...

I will take a pic once I re check everything tonight but the bottom is screwed all the way on the fronts and the rear I have about inch and one half left. Btw I got the tracks (14,10). I did set preload to 175mm as the manual stated. Again I might of messed it up or bumped it, so I will be rechecking it tonight.

so can the height of these coilovers be adjusted when they are mounted on the car ???
Tein Basis: Since these coilovers do NOT provide with the preload functionality, all you do it lower the bottom ring for height adjustment....
ISC: Bottom ring is for height....so you break it loose and then turn the body of the coilover into the bottom tube....but how are you gonna do that if the damn coilover is already installed ?

Dude,
True, the ride hight can't be adjusted with everything bolted-up. But, the lower tube can be turned when you pull out the lower fastner and push down the lower control arm a bit.

Honestly you only have to take off one bolt to adjust the height of the coils, so it doesn't take any time at all. Loven it
Edit: Some how I looked right over your post inaccurate lol.

Swoosh, if you take a look at the link I provided above, it shows how to adjust height on these as the setup on the N1 is the same as in that video link of the BC. This is on the car.
Sunny also posted another helpful link in post #501 which is off the car.

Your high ride height is probably due to the diet plus the 14 kg front springs plus being lighter 6MT.
I see nothing wrong in the pics. You seem sure that the outer tube is screwed in as far as possible onto the inner body. You checked the preload. Sadly, you are stuck at that height. There is nothing else you can do.
You can verify this by measuring the distance from spindle to fender edge with the car jacked up versus on the ground. Most cars I think drop about 2.0 - 2.5 inches. This is called Droop. If your Droop is only maybe 1.0 inches, this verifies my suspicion regarding your suspension (pun intended).

callahan, I'm curious what the distance is between the middle perch and the bottom locking perch on yours(length of visible threads on the shock body). I want to compare it with mine.
Also, post some pics of your car sitting on level ground. That pic you posted before could be deceiving. I'm determined to get to the bottom of this (pun intended) lol.

I said that the Droop difference would be an inch or more between the diet plus the 14 kg front springs plus being lighter 6MT

Excellent point. FWIW, I'm a 5AT (no diet) on the street sport springs. I can see this making a slight difference, but I'd be shocked if the street sports droop an inch or more than the stiffer track springs.

^ car jacked up measured at 2 1/2" (im planning on fixing my curb rash btw....) but again im not worried about trying to get the car lower, I feel like its a perfect drop for me. Just surprised this is the lowest is it will go is all.

Yeah check the top bolt...one of mine came loose once bc I never double checked it after installing and eventually started making a clunking noise. FYI, you have to use an open-ended wrench and an allen wrench to get it tight.
