you guna add spacers or run those offsets??

if you stick with those offsets id probably run a 225/35 front and a 265/30 rear or 255/30

uhhhhh no way! lets see first off our stock rims are 17"x8" with a +45 offset.... dont ever go narrower than a 8" rim on a TL... second of all the rears at a +63 you would have to add like a 20mm spacer just to make them look somewhat normal...

lastly if upgrading your rims dont go with 17's at least go 1 size bigger or its just a waste....

so in other words NO on these rims.

rears would accept a 235 but not fronts... I would think the most the front could run is a 225/35/19....

you would have to run 225/40

those would fit nice and flush id run a 225/45/17

Yea, I was gonna go with either 225/45 or 235/45. Any suggestion on color or have any pictures of tl's with those wheels. I was thinking hyper black. I have an 05 tl that black with 20%

^ his specs on those are 18"x9.5" +22 all around ... he says fronts rub a lil over bumps... hes lowered on megan coilovers... not slammed but lowered... he hasnt rolled the fenders in the rear and says using the 225/40/18 size tire it doesnt rub... but its a decent looking stretched tire

Ok

Since I'm only goin with a 17x9 and +25 I shouldnt have any rubbing should I?

I'm not gonna lower it bc its my daily driver and the roads where i go to school are crap plus I'm a college student with not a whole lot of money. Just enough to get wheels.

you shouldnt have any issues with rubbing being stock height but im not sure how it will look... most people lower there cars after adding wheels to close the gap and make it look more sporty... if you arent guna lower the car you might want to go with a more conservative offset? What about finding a set of the Aspec rims 18x8 they look sweet are stock to some degree and wont look out of place if you dont lower the car... just a thought

Yea, I'm not sure how it will look either bc most people run at least 18s on the tl. I just can afford 18's bc I would have to buy wheels and tires where as if I bought 17's I could just buy the wheels and run those until I go through the 2 sets of tires I have. Then maybe I can upgrade to 18s or 19s. I don't think it will look bad it jus won't look as good as one with 18s (or 19s) and lowered

07/08 TL Wheel on 05 6-Speed TL w/Spacer

I have an '05 TL w/6-speed (Brembo) and need to know if I can safely make a regular 07/08 wheel work on the fronts with a spacer.

Thanks,
Kevin

I think they will fit already as is.... if you did need a spacer thats not a big deal but im pretty sure stock rims will fit over the brembos

you will have some work with that fitment... you can make it work just depends on how much work you want to put in to it... rears wont be too bad just roll the fenders and run a 225 width tire, but fronts will be a lil work.... if you dont want to go to aggressive try and find a narrower rim for the fronts... i know varrstoen is all about the aggressive fitment wide rims but they are often times hard to fit on low TL's but when pulled off correctly looks nice... +22 on a 9.5" wide rim is the least aggressive size they offer so you cant go any less.

if you want to roll these rims they clear brembos easily so no worries there but you will need to have a 225/35/19 tire and you will have to roll all corners...

Murph,

No spacers, but I would like to be flush as possible.

Any suggestions from the masses on offset for 19s?

well if you want to be flush flush then these offsets arent exactly flush... they wont look bad at all but the fronts should be around a +15 and the rears around +25 in order to be flush with the fenders.... running stretched tires will be required for sure

lot of work to make those fit and look decent.... if you really want those widths in that style rim go with the +22 offsets .... even with the +22 you will need to roll/pull fenders and run negative camber to minimize rubbing.

+12 just too aggressive imo

I am also considering the Tenzo Concept_9 19 "x 8.5" + 45 offset my 08 TL, but my car is the base model. Do I need spacers?

Also If I lower my car 1.2" will it rub?

so a staggered set up??

I think you should be just fine with that set up I would probably run a 235/35/19 front and a 265/30/19 rear on that set up.... should look good

you shouldnt really rub either with that set up even after lowering

yea that would look nice and fit... i would most likely do a 225/35/19F and a 245/35/19R should look nice and flush

yea when you go staggered like you want to do a 235/35 F tire is approximately the same diameter as a 265/30 R tire it should be a good fit for thos rims

Question on Tire/Rim Fitment
Transmission (Manual or Auto): Auto
Year/Trim (04-07, Base or Type S): 05 Non Type S
Wheel Make/Model:TSW Donington
Wheel Size (**X**): Front: 18x8 Rear: 18x9.5
Wheel Offset (+**): Front +42 Rear +40
If lowered (amount): Not lowered, dont plan on lowering. Will they look 'funny' not lowered?

Mostly concerned about the rear. I dont want to have to roll fenders, but I also dotn plan on lowering. These rims are offered in a more aggressive +20 offset fo rboth rear and front. This is the first time I am considering a staggered setup. I want as much beef on the tire as possible, so I was looking at xxx/40/r18 for the rims. Ideas?

they should fit just fine being that you dont have the brembo calipers up front....

if you want to stay conservative stick with the offsets you mentioned and you wont have to roll fenders

if I were you I would go with a 235/40/18F and a 265/35/18R

Perfect. Thats all I needed to hear. I'll be ordering these shortly! FYI - $100 off instant coupon for certain 4 rim sets at discounttiredirect.com.

One last question, will there be a good sized side wall on a 265/35/18R? I had 235/35/19R on my last set of rims, they were a little to "low profile" for me. I am assuiming the added width of the tire will add to the sidewall side since the fronts will be 245/40?

exactly when i ran my 19" tsw's i ran a 235/35/19F and a 265/30/19R and the width of the rear tire added to the sidewall even height being that is was 30% of the 265 width so basically overall the two tires were the same in diameter

One last question. Possibly looking at the TSW NURBURGING rims. They are offered in the following set ups (I am going staggered):

FRONT:
18x8 offset 35
18x8.5 offset 20
18x8.5 offset 45

REAR:
18x9 offset 32
18x9.5 offset 40

Keep in mind I dont plan on lowering my car. I also would not like to have to stretch tires, or roll fenders.

Could you possibly offer a tire suggestion as well for which ever staggered set up above you think would look most flush without having to do any modifications to the car (roll fenders, stretch tires, etc.).

Thnaks so much!!
