Need Help ASAP: Deal is set but I need to pickup wheels tomorrow
Allright guys I need your help, after some searching I think I have a good deal on some wheels and I need your help to let me know if they will fit and what tires to get? He needs to sell them ASAP so I gotta pick them up tomorrow:
Questions on Wheels
Wheel Make/Model: Axis Penta
Wheel Size (**X**): F 19x8.5 , R 19x9.5
Wheel Offset (+**): F +35 , R +40
If lowered (amount): A-spec Suspension
Question on Brembo/Big Brake Clearance
Transmission (Manual or Auto): 6MT
Year/Trim (04-07, Base or Type S): 2005
Will it clear the brakes?
What size tires?
Do I need a Spacer?
I don't think I need to roll any fenders or anything like that?
Will these wheels be flush with the fenders?
Your help is greatly appreciated, I hope this is the winner and I get to change my look.
Thanks

Hey still here, have another fitment question for you! Ballinfizzle's ccw's were 18x9.5 +18, 18x10.5 +22 . I'm planning to get 19x8.5 +15, 19x10 +22. How does the fitment compare to Ballin's CCW's? Is it harder, or easier? Planning on running 225/35/19 rears, 215/35/19 front. Automatic.

You need to run 235 35 19 all around. If you really want to stagger the tires go with 225 35 19 in front and 245 35 19 in back

225/35-19 is acceptable and so it 245/35-19
as both are close to oem 235/45-17...

thanks for the reply. what effect will a skinny tire have on drive quality, etc? the tires i'm looking at are winter tires so i wouldn't really be tearing around in them. thanks!

well considering the factory size is 235, i would stick with that or higher. the factory tl rims are 8'' wide and call for a 235 size tire. you can go as low as 215 and as high as 255 on an 8'' wide rim. having a 215 on an 8'' wheel will not ride quite as good because the tire will be slightly stretched on the rim also causing room for curbage to occur. Also the car will not handle as good with 215 size tire. Also the more width you have on the tire, the more grip you will have in all weather conditions. You want some protection from curbage and at least factory handling specs or more, so either stick with factory 235 or go higher. in my opinion, I would try 245 45 17 since you have plenty of room with the tl rims high offset of 45.

I'm wondering if this will fit.
Wheel: A-SPEC Gunmetal
Size: 18X8.5
Offset: ?
Lowered: H&R Sport Springs
I'm thinking about going with either some Falken FK452 255/35-18 or 255/40-18 tires. Will there be any rubbing issues with either tire size? Any help is greatly appreciated.

WiLLrOx,
Good choice on the 255 width.
The oem tire has a diameter of 25.4 (235/40-18).
The 255/40-18 has a diameter of 26.0
The 255/35-18 has a diameter of 25.2
To me, it is a easy decision. I would get the 255/35-18.
With a slightly smaller diameter tire, you will get (not sure if you will notice although) better braking and acceleration. With the slightly larger diameter (255/40-18), you get less braking and acceleration.
The only downside to the slightly smaller diameter tire is that your wheelwell gap will be slightly more. To me, I am not bothered by wheelwell gap.... I would rather have the performance.
However, if you are easily bothered by the gap and like the appearance more than the performance, get the slightly larger diameter (255/40-18).
I highly doubt that there would be any rubbing issues with either tire.

In my post above, I was using generic figures.
I just checked the falkentire.com website and found this -
The 255/40-18 has a diameter of 26.4
The 255/35-18 has a diameter of 25.1
I would really advise against the 255/40-18. That is getting fairly large.
