Window Regulator replacement
Hey folks,
From what I can tell, most of the 3G garage posts are busted.
I need to replace the window regulator in my passenger side door. Do I need the whole contraption, or just the motor?

Havent wrenched on regulator for Acura yet for regulator but if its just regulator then you can usually just transfer the motor to new regulator. Ill let a techie who has done it in TL respond for better insight though.

These are very easy to replace yourself. I would purchase thru the links below as your local dealer will most likely be higher! (Mine wants $203 for the front passenger regulator and $184 for the rear passenger regulator)

Op,
You have to replace the whole assembly, motor and regulator. You can save a lot of money by using recycled parts, especially if you pull the parts yourself at a local pick n Pull... $40.00.

Has anyone sourced or tried a window regulator from eBay? Is it worth the money for OEM? Also found one on rock auto, for $30! Much cheaper than $148 OEM from dealer......Thnks!

So for drivers side it would be front Left, correct? I know it depends on if you’re facing the vehicle I believe. I guess the motor is separate? Darn! My motor works some, slowly. And stops 1/2 way down. Haven’t popped door panel yet to check to see what’s broke, but heard a clunk, when window was lowered all the way down. Then won’t go lower than halfway now. Don’t want to try again, and have it not go back up....

it could just be slow because the regulator is broken and providing extra resistance on the motor; ergo, the motor COULD be okay. I'd buy both just to be safe and you can return it if you determine the existing motor is still alright.

True, I’ve thought about that aspect. My only concern is that I have the KP module soldered in, and I can’t recall if I’ll be able to pull the panel far enough, for access. It’s been a long time since I’ve had to go in there....
