Weird noise at highway speeds

hey guys. i have an 06 tl..when im on the highway doing 50mph at about 1500-2000 rpms im having a weird sound almost sounds like a helicopter. i cant exactly pinpoint where in the car its coming from. ive done some research and checked the bearings by jacking up the car and trying to move the tires side to side and they seem fine..does anyone else have this similar issue or any noise at highway speeds? once im up to 60mph it seems to stop

Balance usually shows up as a vibration in the steering wheel or felt in the seat.

Run your hand over the tread on all 4 tires .. both directions .. especially on the inside of the tread. See if you feel any feathering.

I'm in agreeance with the tire noise theory. I have some tires on my wife's Mazda3 that produces a steady rhythm when at highway speeds, but not as audible at slower speeds.

You sure you're not doing something else while you're in the car?

Thanks guys I have no idea what the issue is I'm also going with the tire noise theory. I've recently adjusted the press to 32 front, 33 rear as recommended in other threads and it has quieted slightly. I also read some reviews on my tires and pretty much have heard from everyone they're noisy as he'll on all cars.

Everything else seems fine with the car ie. Tranny, motor mounts. Is there anything else this could be??????

its a wheel bearing going bad no doubt. Over 60 mph you probably cant hear it over the wind noise.

Needed a balance. Took it to the tire shop and they checked it out both front tires were pretty worn on the inside and they were out of balance. Getting them put on Tuesday this should be the problem.

If they're worn on the inside be sure to check the alignment. Unless you have a camber kit they evenly wear.

yea the two new tires will be balanced and aligned.. im also going to have the rears balanced and aligned just so everything is the same..

this should be the cause of the noise im hearing since the wheel shakes at 50 and above...am i right?

Well $350 later the noise is gone and the car sounds better then ever.

The two front tires were out of balance which caused the insides to wear unevenly. One those were replaced and I was have the car aligned, we noticed my rear rim was bent. Fixed that for $30.

Never knew this car was this quiet on the highway lol.

Usually balance issues won't cause tire wear .. I bet the toe settings were / are off.
