TLS 2007 with Keyfob issues - MICU?
Hi all, it's been years since Ive been on this forum!
some context, bought the car new, put in remote start and alarm system and been running fine until I decided to get a quote from a dealership few months ago...
About 2 weeks ago, i opened the truck with the remote, got my sunglasses, later that evening, I opened the doors and put back my sunglasses through the passenger side door, relocked.
The next day, I goto the car, to open the car.. and the keyfob doesn't respond at all. I can open the car with my key manually.
There's some hairy stuff that proceeded since I had an alarm and didn't have a way of disabling it.
Here's the symptoms:
unlock, lock, panic, and truck buttons on the key fob do not work. (no sounds, relays or reaction at all from the car)
from inside the door, i can use the button to lock, unlock, and trunk and it does work.
after removing the alarm module, I can drive the car fine with no issues.
I can trigger the remote start by using the internal door button (I used the 3x lock press method) and works fine.
If i lock the doors, (with window down) use the inside button to open, it turns on internal alarm (which is normal, and confirms working)
Things I've tried:
Replaced the battery on the keyfob, same issue. (keyfob led turns blinks)
Checked battery voltage / health - good.
Reprogrammed the key fob with the ignition (2), press, ignition(off) repeat method. - did not ever learn or lock/unlock doors.
Bought an used keyfob - tried reprogramming it as well, same result.
Got a used keyless entry module (the one above the brake), tried reprogramming, did not work.
Unplugged the remote start / alarm module, same issues.
I bought a second remote start brain off ebay, plugged it in, did not help.
Confirmed that the original remote start brain works by using the internal buttons to trigger remote start.
I checked all the fuses in the driver side kick panel, all good.
I'm not sure what is left?
Thanks guys!

- Check all the fuses related to the transmitter.
- Under dash: No. 21 & No. 6
- Under hood: No. 15, No. 22, No. 23
- Check power and ground is good to the transmitter unit.
- GRY/BLU = Battery Voltage
- YEL = Battery Voltage (positions ON and START only)
- BLK = Ground
- PNK/BLK = Com line (you'll probably need a scope to see it)
- Check the remote start system does not interfere with the transmitter system
Thanks El Cheapo!
Diagrams are super helpful!
Reprogramming does't take at all.
Thanks in advance!

- Check power and ground is good to the transmitter unit.
- GRY/BLU = Battery Voltage (12.3V)
- YEL = Battery Voltage (positions ON and START only) (12.3V on start position)
- BLK = Ground (ground)
- PNK/BLK = Com line (you'll probably need a scope to see it) (I'll try get a cord with an oscilloscope out there)
- Check the remote start system does not interfere with the transmitter system - I m not sure how to do this one, but this shouldn't be the case?

Thanks in advance!
