Hi, Thanks for intro...Just inherited a 2000 Acura TL 3.2 and so far this is a nice ride. have some issues and thought his forum my give me some insight on these problems..
remote will not unlock or lock door's. and also Alarm system does not work. If you can give me any ideas that would be great. First time owner of an Acura. Thanks

does the little red light on the key fob come on when you press the lock and or unlock functions? do the locks operate properly when actuated from the control switch on either front door panel? how did you determine that the alarm system does not work?

 

Thanks for your response Frankjnjr, Was out of commission for a bit, so sorry for not replying right away. In reply to your answer, I locked the car up at the door and opened the window , opened the door and no alarm, however when I touched the panic button, alarm went off. ....There is no visible light on remote... The locks do not operate properly from the drivers side switch. Put in new battery on remote.
Sometimes the locks on either side may work randomly when remote is activated from inside of car,

When you press the lock button twice, is there an audible beep/horn? That lets you know the alarm has been armed.

One or more of the door lock actuators, hood sensor or trunk sensor may be on the fritz.

 

Thanks Thoiboi, Will check those items you mentioned and will advise. Not sure where the sensors are at, but will do some research.

 

I'm having the same problem with my 2000 TL. Were you able to find a fix for it?

 

Hi Thanks for reponse, no don/t have a fix yet, but think it may be the actuater in door or could be needs new master switch.
Still working on it. Also my power windows do not work from master switch from drivers side, so makes me thin need to replace switch.
