Starter diganosed?
Starter diganosed?
Hi all, I am new to this site and wanted to introduce myself as a Honda and Acura owner of many cars in the past.
Anyways I am having issues with the wife's car. Went to fill it up on empty and tired to start it up.. no luck WTF!!?? all lights and dash are on and no signs of weak dimming when trying to start car and no clicking. I tried a couple times more and it started up no problem so all fingers point to the starter. Strange though when on a cold start it starts up fine. What do you guys think?
Also would be great if someone could help with info on how to rebuild the starter for this type of model car. I have rebuilded 2 starters but I dont know what to expect from this car. Which parts would I need to rebuild it instead of replacing it and about how much roughly for the price? Thanks so much for your guys inputs.

Sounds exactly like a bad starter! I am sure the brushes can be replaced, but not sure about whats available in terms of a kit to rebuild the starter motor. I just replaced mine. couple hundred bucks
First: Make sure your terminals & posts are clean & tight, try it.
Put a known good battery in the car, then try it a couple of days.
Then if it is the starter find a rebuilder in your area & have him rebuild it for you, the OEM starters are superior to the replacement one you will buy at the auto parts dealers.
