Rough idle after new engine and transmission mounts
Rough idle after new engine and transmission mounts
Hey guys.126k on a 5at.Just had transmission rebuilt, all new mounts and new lower control bars .
car runs great at speed but I notice a vibration in the steering wheel at idle when I am at a light.it is more pronounced if I have the a/c on.
IAC valve?Ac compressor?any ideas and how big of a deal is this?

It’s mostly likely the quality of the engine mounts. Did you go with OEM mounts or aftermarket? I know OEM mounts have a hydraulic fluid in it to lessen the vibration of the engine. Then you have performance mounts which are made of a much stiffer rubber and doesn’t have the fluid in it which will make the vibrations from the engine a lot more noticeable but will result in less engine movement. Or you just installed poor quality engine mounts.
