Does anyone have a clue what this raspy sound is. I know it’s exhaust leak because of the smell, but from the sound alone does it sound like a manifold gasket leak or a leak in the down pipe. The smell comes from behind the engine but the sound is the loudest underneath.

Hopefully its the downpipe so i have a reason to buy a j pipe 😅

the cabin reeks of gas when the heater is on
the car also sound like a fart can rattling when i pass by a bridge lol

This is exactly what my car sounds like now and I get that same smell with the heat on lol. I just bought new exhaust gaskets from where the pre cats connect to the engine all the way back to the catback. I’m getting a “lean” CEL code and im hoping the new gaskets on the pre cats will fix that.
