Rattle or clunk type sound from driver's front wheel well

I am having an increasing rattle or clunk type sound from driver's front wheel well. Also have a click type sound from same area when I apply the brakes. I envision something loose in the strut or ball joint area or maybe a loose brake component.

Been out of a job for a few months so I really would like to avoid the Dealer cost. ANY ideas????? Thanks for any help.

I've got a similar rattle/clunk in the rear. My first guess is the stabilizer link (endlink). I'm going to check mine out tomorrow and will let you know. I don't have the clicking sound though.

just an update ...my issue as mentioned above is not related to the stabilizer links or sway bar bushings.

^^make sure the end links are cinched up tight. even a slight "looseness" from the bolt (we're talking less than a 1/4 turn) can create a horrible rattle.

OP when does your rattle/clunk occur? speed bumps? driveways?

click when brakes applied? hard braking or normal braking?

Does it do it when your turn? Could be your axle.

It is not when turning. I dont hear it at all on the larger bumps. And the brake sound is during easy to normal breaking.

I have the exact same clunking and it turn out to be my adjustable upper ball joint from SPC- got them replaced this morning and much better and noise is gone

It sounds like metal rubbing when slowing down/light braking

You can sit next to the wheels- hold the top spoke of the rim and pull it in and out- you can feel the wheel move

Thanks for all the advice. The culprit is the upper control arm ball joint. When i jacked it up the top of the wheel would move in and out and the ball joint was visibly moving significantly.
