Question Questions about my tranny problem

So basically on my 08 TL base automatic transmission when I put it in drive or reverse it kind of waits like 2 seconds then clunks in. Also when I accelerate from a complete stop there is a slight vibration on the gas pedal for approximately 7-10 seconds. I have already ordered the pressure switched and will do that as son as they get here, is there anything else that anyone would recommend i do? side note yes I know my name says 06tl is a name change possible?

You'll have to reach out to the great and powerful @Ron A if you want to change your username.

When was the last time you've done a transmission fluid drain and refill? That should help it a bit

gates timing belt kit. comes with water pump and tensioner.
can be found at RockAuto

congrats on the new-to-you car!
probably the first things to do when buying a used car is to change ALL fluids..
oil, tranny, coolant, brake fluid... ALL fluids
that way you're starting off fresh with piece of mind!

Timing Belt questions can all be answered here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...-scans-841134/

Make sure you use ATF - DW 1 (Honda or Acura OEM)

coolant should be done at the same time as the 105K else you'll just do it again

I got '08 with auto and almost 90k miles. Car was well maintained as far as I know, I'm keeping it this way too. I changed the pressure switches and did 3x3 same time as two oil changes.

Transmission shifts smoothly. When it downshifts car is slowing down and you can really feel it for a second or two (almost like using some brakes). Especially from 4->3 and 3->2

I also have this delay in shifting to drive/reverse, while in reverse it shakes the car when engaged if car was cold (doesn't happen in summer) . It was always like that. Fluid changes and switches helped with shifting, ~2s delay while engaging drive is still there.

I test drove two other cars, 08 and 07. Both of them did same thing when shifting into drive. So my guess is that those cars are just like that. Or all of them are broken hah.

Do all maintenance and you should be fine. Good luck.

Check your front motor mounts!! If your front is bad, you mine as well buy the passenger mount, it will likely be bad too. Once the front goes, its a domino effect as the other mounts need to take on additional stress

I do not recommend getting anything but OEM. unless you want to pursue the solid type aftermarket option. The oem mounts are vacuum assisted, and soften at idle to absorb more vibration.

When they go bad, you lose the vacuum to the mount (sometimes the hydraulic fluid leaks out) which in turn creates more vibration at idle.

Nope, The AT is crap, also the older ATF-Z1 was also crap, but the newer ATF-DW1 is better.
