Problem with tie down for replacement battery

The original battery in my 2004 died with 50K miles on the car - which doesn't seem unusual from some of the posts on battery failure. I'm having some problems finding a replacement battery that will work with the original Acura tie down. My original battery is a Delphi Freedom battery, and the top of the battery is flat (there are no water plugs). I can't seem to find a replacement battery other than Optima (which is overly expensive) that fits the Acura and has a flat top.

Can someone recommend a replacement battery with a flat top, or tell me what to use for a battery tie down? I'm sure that others who have replaced their batteries have faced this problem but I haven't seen it discussed in any postings that I could find.

Thanks.

go return the battery, and go to the stealership. They should warranty the battery as it was 2 years for the 2004-2006 TL, or they should pro-rate a new one with a 3 yr warranty standard.

Optima FTW. It's worth the money.

Do check your original warranty, it's a good one.
I didn't check so went to Sears and bought their Gold Series. It fits fine with the original tie down which is adjustable.

I reacted before I thought. Typically when my battery cranks slow twice in a short period, off to replace it I go.

Sears had been good with DieHard batteries for the past 40 years for me. This last experience was the final one as the service was terrible (K-Mart).

#24F and bestbuy were the keys from your post DMZ.
