P0325 Code (Knock Sensor) Severity

It seems that a mouse has chewed the wires to my knock sensor so it started throwing a code this morning. This is my commuter car so I was wondering if I can still drive the car without damaging it until I can fix it this weekend? I drive like a grandma but I still want to be safe.

My 07 TL-S A/T has close to 60K on it, so could the sensor actually be bad? I see little foot prints under the hood so I assumed that was the problem. Should I order a sensor and harness or is it VERY unlikely that the sensor is bad and can be fixed with some tape at the least or a new knock sensor harness? Thanks

After becoming a contortionist I was able to see the wire in question and it appears that there is some tape wrapped around it in a bunch. I am assuming this is a patch from when someone reattached the wire before me. I have the battery unhooked to reset the ECU in hopes of it working until the weekend when I can tear it down. Sound plausible?

Thank you for the reply eg. I understand the purpose of the sensor and I assumed it would be OK since the car would just run super rich to compensate for its inability to lean out and utilize the knock sensor but I needed a second opinion to feel comfortable.
