seems like 100% takes like 7k miles before it tells you need an oil change, i thought oil should be changed at 3k miles?

definalty seems like it wait way longer then 3k?

I just had my 07 TL-S changed the oil, and it was after 6,912 miles... about over 7 months since my last oil change... just go with what your MID tells you

My last change was at 7,850 miles, did it at 1 year, MID still wasn't down to zero.

Mine has been running at ~4500 miles per change.

Oil Life counter takes into account temp, RPMs, miles and other data to estimate oil life. Your oil life will depend on your driving conditions.

3k per oil change is old technology thinking. Oils are better formulated to last longer and engines are better engineered to reduced oil "wear". Even a basic dino oil should be good for 4,000 - 5,000 miles.

A good filter goes a long way to helping make sure your oil lasts as long as it should.

Until 20% life remaining-- then it switches to decreasing 5% increments.

You should also change your oil yearly even if you don't hit 7k or before the MID tells you.
