My first post on this forum. I have an 06 TL. I am the original owner. Car has around 75K miles.
I have decided to keep the car since it is so fun to drive. First up is the upholstery. The drivers seat is in bad shape.
I removed the seat and have started removing the cover.
Seat Removed This is what I am going to repair. I have the new upholstery ready to install after I remove the cover. And a pic of my car 06 TL
Cover is on. Not worried about the wrinkles I am positive they will smooth out once it warms up and the sun bakes it. It's pretty cold around here now.
That's what I used when I replaced the driver side seat cover on my CL-S6 last year:

No perforated leather, unfortunately.
In the car, the color was a pretty good match.

An unrelated obligatory S/C'er pic:
Acura should be embarrassed for using such crappy, cheap, and paper-thin leather back then. EVERY TL gets cracked seats.
The 3G has a few areas of poor quality in materials, front dash cracking/splitting, headliner glue failing, poor leather seat covers, Panasonic radio CD/DVD failing, black vinyl covered exterior trim,.....
This spring I'm gonna replace the seat bottom for both front and rear.
Are you replacing the seat backs or leaving them as is?
Mine are in good condition so I'm figuring to just leave the seat backs alone and replace all three seat bottoms.
zip ties are not strong enough over duration and use. Know someone who used them on a Lexus LX450 seat reupholster and many failed after a year or so.
I agree with this comment. I can;t speak to an Acura seat construction, but what are typically used are called “hog ties”. These are metal rings that are clamped in place with a dedicated design pliers. Amazon has a kit for about $17, take a peak and see how it might work.

Scroll down once at the link; the kit usually has several hundred of the rings and the crimping pliers.
