Navigation Buttons

No its not easy unless you are comfortable taking out your navigation screen, which involves taking out: glove box door, glovebox, panel to the left of the glovebox, (2) under steering wheel panels, panel to the right of the driver foot well, (2) silver trim pieces, center console, shifter area trim, upper vents and display, and finally the navigation unit and the unplugging of it's wire harness.
I've done it and plan to never to do it again. If you're replacing those few buttons, make sure they're all replaced so you won't need to replace them anytime soon again.

OK, I am comfortable with that, but only up to the point of pulling the NAV unit out. Then what? Does the faceplate come off, and are they simply LED bulbs back there? Any soldering needed?

Update time. Remember those bulbs I was talking about in my original post? The ones that started blowing like a whore one day? Well I got my package from Delray Acura today...
Started at 5 and finished at 9.
I know why they charge an arm and a leg to do this at the dealer now. Time consuming. Not too bad though.

All in working order again. Taken on my iPhone 4...not the best.

I'm gonna be so pissed when my bulbs go out...I don't know what I'm gonna do. Sure as hell ain't gonna tear apart my dash like that. I did it on my RSX fine, but the TL is way more complicated...

cjTL - thanks SO MUCH. I have the red bulbs for the type S. Can't seem to find the part number....
Defroster buttons:
009 39057-SEP-A61 BULB (8V 120MA)
Setup/Info button:
006 39055-SEP-A71 BULB (8V 60MA)
Just order all the bulbs that go around the navi screen though, honestly.

btw, you can save yourself quite a few bucks if you buy the bulbs from radioshack.
here is the part: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2103780
just unwrap the wire connections from the base and take off the colored cover and swap out the bulb.

My emphasis was not on the way he tackled the issue but rather on the verbiage I deliberately omitted in my original quotation.
Having said that my apologies if my reply seemed disrespectful and thanks to both of you we now have 2 ways to undertake the issue.![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Guess you'd be the person to ask about taking the interior of the TL apart.

1) Remove the two long running silver garnishes
2) Remove the 3 or 4 screws connecting the rear section of the center console to the midsection
3) Remove the two screws in the console storage area, pull back
SEAT HEATERS
- Using a stubby phillips head, unscrew the 2 screws for the switches and remove
NAV
- Using a long-blade flathead, pry the lower clip to the side interior panel out and BELOW the clip point in the shifter bezel. Repeat for the other clips
- Pull out the center vents
- Unscrew the shifter bezel from the radio, remove the nav/radio screws
- Pull up and out!
DONE
I can see your line of thought in how you did it...and TBH, you did it the safest way possible! With this method there is the slight chance of bending/breaking a clip IF you're not careful. Otherwise, you'll save TONS of time!!! At this point in time I have have a nav/radio out in well under 15 minutes.
Hope this help!

Thanks for the instructions. I'll remember for next time I need to take the navi out. When I did it, it was my first time and I didn't want to break anything. So I just followed the written procedure. ![Tomato](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/tomato.gif)
None of this stuff is really hard, just have to follow instructions well.
