Car won't start
So today I tried to turn on my car, but it wouldn't start. It's just keeps making this *clicking* noise over and over. The battery still works because the radio and what not still turns on. I'm thinking it's the starter. Any other ideas?
do a search .... been cover a few times already this winter.
I bet 1 or both of your battery terminal connections is corroded. Take them both off and wire brush them. Do both the battery terminals and the ends of the cables.

I don't know if this help's, but I had a problem with my car starting. I would try to turn it on, but nothing. so I turned it off and turned it back on and nothing, so I keep doing that for like two to three trys and it finally started up. I took mine to the dealership and finds out that I had a bad starter. from what they told me, mine was sticking which was why mine had a hard time starting up. I don't know if yours is something like mine.
Well nothing is turning on in the car anymore. I can't even use the button to unlock/lock my car. Once the weather warms down a little, my dad is going to check out the car, but for now it's just sitting there.

Installed a new WalMart battery a year ago and yesterday I went to start the car and after a few seconds of coninuous clicking, nothing. One more try and the dash lights went out. Jumped the car and drove to WalMart where they did a battery/charging test and it was OK, voltage 13.4.
Came home and pulled and cleaned the terminals and everything is OK. The only thing I did different on my installation of the WalMart battery was I used that little spray can of red anti-corrosion. As I cleaned the terminals I could see where the red spray had migrated between the battery terminal and the connector so I guess that may have weakened the alternator's ability to keep my battery at full charge until is simply went dead. Charged it overnight after cleaning the terminals and seems OK now.

I find that the Acura connectors do not fit aftermarket terminals all that well and that one must take care to ensure a tight fit when tightening the connectors....
I think you are right about the Honda terminals as the 10mm nut on the clamp acts like it was bottomed out. Could be the Everstart battery as smaller diameter terminals? Years ago there used to be lead shims to insert between the terminal and the clamp to take up the slack. Not sure they are made anymore.
^^^Mine weren't that bad, but close. There are commercial corrosion cleaners you can buy, but I did it the old fashioned way: I removed the battery and then dipped each connector in a disposable plastic cup fill with baking soda mixed with warm water and let it soak for 5-10 mintues. Then I used a wire brush dipped in the baking soda solution to knock off the stubborn stuff. You could also probably use an old toothbrush. I also used the brush on the battery terminals and doused the top of the battery with a baking soda/water solution.
As mentioned earlier, I highly recommend buying terminal protectant/pads. You can get the pads and a spray can of the stuff packaged together at Wally World for under $5. If you don't, the corrosion will soon reappear.
I don't know why, but these damn terminals corrode worse than any I've ever seen. The connectors don't fit aftermarket batteries all that well and I suspect that has something to do with it.

It's the battery, I had this very same problem last weekend
. *clicking* noise & gauge needles flickering (when trying to start my car), then I switched my windshield wipers on the fastest setting & watched it move slowly across the windshield. Right there & then I knew it was the battery. Went to my local Sears & picked up a Die hard gold battery (all the die-hard platinum batteries were sold out) & the car started up like nothing happened

Loosen the clamp nut a couple of turns, take a screwdriver & gently pound the clamp body down going side to side til it's completely to the bottom of the batt. terminal, both terminals, then tighten the nuts. The terminals are tapered & diameter increases as the clamp goes down the terminal.
