2004 TL 240k miles, is my rack gone? I replaced the power steering pump and o rings 30k ago, power steering fluid is topped off, but my steering’s super squeaky lately, at first I thought it was the bushings so i sprayed lube on the control arm bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints and that seemed to fix it the first time but it’s back and that’s not working, I’m wondering if that was just a coincidence since it sounds like it’s coming from directly under the engine near the rack. In the video from the engine bay, it sounds more like a clicking or tapping but it is the same squeaking noise just turning the wheel much slower. Thank you!

 

i had the same squeak but it was from the passenger side. a month later and a fender was taken out. result: ball joint which broke again after replacing it a year ago.
