Unhappy Keyless not working

I tried to reprogram my only key to my 07 TL. Going through the steps posted here I am able to get to the part where the actuators will work when the unlock/lock button is pressed. After pressing a second time to store the code then turning off the ignition and removing the key, the unlock/lock buttons will not work. The panic button works and the horn starts beeping. Any suggestions? I tried the whole process several times.

12. Confirm you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators within 1 to 4 seconds, then push the transmitter lock or unlock button again, or the code will not be stored.

13. Within 10 seconds, aim the transmitter (up to two additional ones) whose codes you want to store in the keyless receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored.

14. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and remove the key.

15. Confirm proper operation with the transmitters.

Also, any way to shut the door chime off when opening the driver door? The headlights are not on and the key is not in the ignition when the door is opened. Pretty annoying...

Is the key synced after programming (Shows up on MID as driver 1 or 2 when you open the door)?

Service manual for an 07 TL says the following:

Adding a remote transmitter

Turn the ignition switch ON (II), push the transmitter's lock or unlock button within 4 seconds and turn the ignition
switch OFF, turn it back ON (II) within 4 seconds and back OFF. Repeat this 2 more times and the locks should cycle
when the transmitter button is pushed. Turn the ignition switch OFF and remove the key. Wait 10 seconds and verify
that all remotes function properly.

I finally got time to take this problem to the dealer. I needed a new key anyways so they cut me one and were able to program the key to the car, however, the keyless lock still will not work. They identified a problem with the lock cylinder. Apparently it seems that the cylinder is still sensing a key even when the key is pulled. The key chime is always on when the door is opened and the security will not work because of it. They recommended a new cylinder and gave me a quote but I'm pretty sure I can do it myself with a cheaper part form oemacuraparts. My concern is that a new cylinder comes with different keys and they assured me that the old cylinder can be reused so that my current keys will still work. Any information on this? I looked through the service manual but i only found directions on replacing the whole assembly...
