Intermediate shaft tick

So I have 04 TL 6Speed and the problem I'm having is that it shakes under acceleration only. If you're under the car you can hear a small tick from the intermediate shaft. What could it be ? Both wheels look like there moving up and down while rotation and I've put new tires and balanced them. Anyone experience the same thing.?

Shaking under acceleration usually is axles, esp if the car is lowered. Intermediate shaft can be an issue if the worn axle is left on for too long and wrecks the bearing on the intermediate shaft. I'd recommend replacing all 3 and also checking the trans upper and lower mounts and also your engine mounts. Rubber ages terribly and they are probably cracked/torn.

I've replaced the front mount and side transmission mission mount. Motor and transmission are solid under a load. Axels aren't clicking, nor are the boots torn. But it seams like there's a slight tick by the intermediate shaft.

I had a similar situation with my Intermediate Shaft and it turned out to be that the support bracket that connects the bearing enclosure to the engine broke. My recommendation would be to inspect and/or repair it immediately before it snowballs into a much more costly repair or accident in the future. I replaced mine by myself in less than 90 min and saved a lot of $$$. Hope you get it figured out, Good Luck!
