Hole in subframe in control arm area. Weld? Replace?
Somehow this happened. Can this be properly welded? Or am i gonna need to replace the subframe? Ive asked around some and have gotten different opinions but most say replace. Was just curious if anyone else had this issue and what was your fix? Getting frustrating. Ive had engine Tore down gettinf re-sealed and all sorts of other issues i keep finding. Steering rack needs replacing, need new ps pump, rear panel needs repainting, needs valve adjustment, timing belt past due. Now this.
Looks like the guy below had a similar problem and replaced the subframe.
Click the blue arrow next to his name & it will take you to the thread.

The steel lower control arms had eaten the aluminum mount on the subframe almost in a complete circle on the bottom side on the passenger side of the car and was just starting to break through on the drivers side. Obviously, if the bushing in the front mounting point of your front lower controls is failing or has failed, I suggest you replace it ASAP.
Otherwise, you may be able to beat that price by finding one locally on car-part.com salvage website.
Use 'Engine Cradle' in 'Select Part' field.
Good Luck!
Are the auto 04-08 aubframes the same? Im being told they are, then some say no the 04-06 are different, then someone sent me a link and every year the part numbers are different even the 07 and 08 are different part numbers. Does anyone know for sure? Mines an 07 Type S AUTO
that is what im saying the 07 and 08 are two different part numbers according to your link the 08 wont fit. Im being told it would work anyway but wanted to know for sure

Looking at your picture, it appears this damage shown below is either on the left or right side of the subframe circled in green on the diagrams below the picture.
Comparing & contrasting the 07 / 08 OEM vendor parts diagrams below & assuming they are accurate,
your 07 TL-S Auto has 'differences' between the 08 TL-S Auto marked in red.
07TL-S:
08 TL-S:
Even if you wanted to purchase for big $$$ a new Auto 07TL-S subframe, they appear to be discontinued.
Therefore, if you get one (07) second hand you need to make sure to verify if the little two hole platform (next to #1) are present to make the connection for whatever goes there versus the 08 subframe that does not have one.
Same applies to the two red arrow items in front of the the area circled in green.
They are different between the two years, though, I suppose you could get an 08 to work on your 07 if the differences are not a concern to you?
These noted subtle differences, if they are depicted accurately on the diagrams, are the reason why the subframes have different part #'s, cabeesh?
On a positive note for the OP, on APW's website there is an indication that the 50200-SEP-A05, from the 08, can be used because of A04's discontinued status:
Furthermore, going back and reexamining the one on the ebay link I provided in post #7, when I specifically googled 5200-SEP-A04 that is one example that came up.
With that said, If that one is to be considered for purchase, because, at best you, want an 07 specifically, I would compel the seller to first send pictures of the other side of the subframe listed.
The picture shows only the side that faces the road when mounted to the engine / car.
Here's is another below listed as 5200-SEP-A04; however, if the OEM vendor diagrams I used above are accurate, it clearly looks like an 08 subframe? 2007 07 ACURA TL TYPE-S - FRONT SUBFRAME CROSSMEMBER K FRAME - AUTOMATIC OEM 87 | eBay
This is why it is very important to perform your 'due diligence & know your sh!t' when you are forced to purchased 'used' expensive parts because the OEM one is discontinued.
Having an 03 CL-S six speed, I am all to aware of having a car where a lot of parts on it fall under the 'discontinued' category. Every time I need a critical part and it is discontinued, this is the dance I go through to make sure I get as close as possible to what I need to maximize fitment.

$75 for subframe / "k-member" from my local pick 'n pull. @zeta is correct. All 3g subframe are same except 07-08 AT. They've got that funky bracket. It can be chopped off if you're using an 07-08 TL AT subframe in a 03-07 Accord, 04-06 TL, or a 07-08 TL 6MT.
Its about 42 lbs. Recycle your old one and net about $10 more than the junkyard core charge
