help! 05 TL WON;T START, GET ONE CLICK WHEN I TRY TO START...
Could it be the starter? Or somehow anti theft system triggered? if so, anyone know a starter/alternator guy in boston? I would hate to bring this to the dealer and go broke. Tried to jump it with no luck. When I turn the key, everything oes on, including the air conitioning and lights, but i only get ONE CLICK. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you tried to jump it and still no luck, you either have a completely dead cell in the battery (not likely), a cable issue, or a bad starter. Or a frozen up engine. Kidding.

I tried to jump the tl with a lincoln navigator as the booster engine.
I can only hope it i the battery bcause it was replaced 2 years ago from acura with a 100 month warranty...
Anyone know a good shop to take this to if its the starter?

Don't condemn the starter yet. Turn the lights on and try and start the car, do the lights go dim, if so, not enough juice in the battery, and make ceertain cables are clean, but if they stay bright and you hear a click, I'd then assume it's the starter, or as Matt stated a frozen engine. Just kidding!!!!!.

Very good point about the dimming lights.

For the future, make sure the battery is perfect. I replace mine at the first sign of trouble (after properly diagnosing it of course) because a weak battery can make the starter go out sooner.

I had the same problem as you. It turned out to be the positive terminal being very very ccorroded. It would end up discharging the battery. The car would not turn on or nothing.
I dropped some coke and did my best to remvoe some of it off and I let the car sit overnight. I came back in the morning and the car automagically turned on. I took no chances and drove to autozone, got the battery and alternator checked. They both tested good. I went and a new terminal, replaced it (very easy, even for someone like me) and protected it with the gue they sell.
All in all, it solved my problem. Good luck.
