Engine probs

Hey I'm posting on behalf of my moms car. I have an 07 altima but I still love the TL . But back on subject the car which is an 04 with about 30k, the check engine light came on & the car was running very rough called dealership had it towed there.

1st time: Dealership replaced engine processor said everything was normal. Recieved car back after 1 week felt good at 1st but same problem came up again engine cut off while driving after about a day of having it. Had it towed again.

2nd time: dealership had the car this time for almost a month drained all fluids including fuel tank. This time same problem but said it was bad gas btw (only used premium since she had the car)so they replaced all fuel injectors. Got the car back 2 days ago guess what same check engine light & rough ride with the car cutting off while driving.

I know this isnt my car but it's still an a problem to have to share a car when there shouldn't even be a problem with this car. I guess my question is has this ever happend to anyone on here if so what is the ultimate cause because it seems that there just guessing what could be the problem at the expense of our time.

Well, I don't believe you'll find the problem classified as normal on a TL.
If the MIL is on, then the trouble code should be stored. You'll need to connect a reader to the data link connector under the dash on the driver's side to see what fault code has been stored. That naturally will give you an indication of the circuit that needs to be checked.
I believe AutoZone will run a check at no charge, but knowing the code, then repairing the problem is sometimes not an easy task.

Just tell them to keep it till its really fixed and the Service MANAGER has driven it home twice to verify
At a certain point it becomes a lemon law issue so let them keep trying

Thanks for the imput too bad I can't use the lemon law over the limit for that. I believe NJ is 2 years or 18k. The car was leased new and the lease will be up in feb 08. But we've made it very clear that we do not want that vehicle back untill all issues are resolved. Driving on the NJ turnpike and having the car cut off after 2 failed service attempts doesn't inspire much confidence in the car or the service department. But is there anything else we could do or are we doomed to live in the service department till the end of the lease ?

Which dealership have you/your mom been going to?
Have you tried going to a different dealership?

Maybe a different dealership might come across something the first dealership missed, it might be a good idea for you to go to a different dealership have them take a look at it........and then once they look at it give them the invoices or diagnostic findings from dch montclair.....and they might be able to come up with a solution...........just a thought.......can't hurt, apperantly dch can't figure out the problem.......
Keep us updated on the process.........and Good luck........
