Driver side rear rotor

I hate to post this, but I'm at a loss. On my last rotor/pad replacement and I can't get the darn rotor off. After I spin the star wheel as far as it'll go towards the floor and the rotor comes about 65% off but just won't fully release. I've read the forums and I was a bit confused about star wheel direction, but when rotating it up it prevents rotor rotation. I haven't tried the 8mm bolts to pry it off, but that's my next step. If that doesn't work is there anywhere else I can try and release the parking brake cable? I even loosened the nut a bit under the center console.

How bad is it to drive with one side on the rear brand new and the other side with 90k miles?

Thanks.

I had the same issue when I did my rears. A ridge of corrosion had built up on the outer edge of the rotor and the emergency brake shoes were hanging up on it. Use the bolts to push it off the rest of the way.

The e-brake should not be on when removing the rear rotors! That's your problem.

^lol, you shouldnt be messing with the star spindle at all!
thats for the ebrake!

take a hammer or a mallet and bang the rotor off, after confirming that ebrake handle is not pulled up.
and after confirming that the two rotor screws are out.

or like previously stated, use bolts to push the rotor off!

$0.92 for two bolts could've saved me hours of misery last night. Old is off and new is on, e-brake works perfect. Thanks for the help everyone.
