you have to remove the child lock cap... and unscrew a bolt that's visible behind it... then just snap the new cover on... then put the bolt back on and then put the child lock cap back on the door panel...

Sorry - Are you talking about the Inside Door Handle or the Outside Door Handle?

If it's the outside, there is a TSB on that. Some Covers don't fit right and fall or get knocked off. The Dealer should replace that under warranty. The TSB recommends that both the Cover and Bracket be replaced together to insure a proper fit.

Here is the TSB link: http://www.in.honda.com/Rjanisis/pubs/SB/B07-043.PDF

Call 'em. I think they might Good Will it. It's only a 20 minute job (for them. For me, it's 20 mins to open the package right; Remove the door panel? There's not enough daylight).

Let them know that you know there is a TSB, that you've already purchased the part and are just asking for Good Will on the Labor.

Can't hurt. Call a couple of dealers or your salesman. Eventually somebody will say "yes".

Do you have a picture of what your dealing with? This is an easy DIY but your making it seem a little more complicated.. If we saw a picture we could give you a more detailed explanation on what to do. If it's the cap i'm thinking of (the little one, similar to the one where the key hole is on the driver door) this is very simple, you just remove the little meta piece inside with a flathead and then put the cover back on. I did this when I covered up my keyhole on my driver door, i'm sure it's bascially the same

I don't think that's the right link - that's a Service News link. I posted the TSB link earlier.

I don't totally get it either Evader. I know the TSB says to replace the BASE and the CAP. I did the shaved door handle - it was super easy, but it was only the CAP. Not sure what else needs to be done to replace the BASE as well.

My guess is that ACURA thinks that if the BASE/CAP didn't fit quite right before, the best bet to insure proper fit is to replace both.
