Exclamation Check Engine Light Stays On...

Hey there my check engine light went on tonight and it just stays on . I've heard that it usually flashes on and off but mine just stays on. Anyone that might know what the problem may be would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to have to take it to a dealer to have it checked if its not needed. Thank you!

you heard what???????????? It should self test on startup then off unless a problem is pressent

just go to autozone or kragen type parts store
They will pull the codes for you for free- report back here with them.
code reader port is behind center piece between seat heat control switches
Engien OFF- Put car in gear to make room to remove cover piece

Do any work on the car recently? year and miles?
