Changing cables to fuse box from battery - really $140

My car was not starting every once in a while - so was jump starting the car and it worked every time. Tired of jump starting i decided to replace battery and the Oreillys guy replaced battery and one connector as it was badly corroded.

Next day the car didnt start again and jumo starting did not work and hence had it towed to the shop.

The guys spends an hour and looks and tellsme the cable from battery to fuse box is corroded and asks me to pay $140 in palo Alto , ca. he might be rigt in replacing the cable-but is $140 reasonable??

Thanks,

If this is the cable you need, then no. $140 is not reasonable.

If the price is for both the cable and labor to install, then it is reasonable-- it's more work than just a couple of bolts.

It doesn't look too bad to change the positive battery cable. Here's the DIY:

I think I paid Acura $180 to replace mine, so $140 sounds pretty good. If you are handy, you can probably do it yourself. Mine was already sitting at the dealership with a broken cable and I didn't want to drive it 25 miles home hoping it made it.
