Rotora- Hawk HPS and stock pads are the main choices
If you are gettng noise on initial light application of brakes- thats the squeeler tab warning you of low pads by hitting the brake rotors
You will probably want to have the rotors resurfaced in that case, if not- at least clean them to remove old pad material or you will have issues with noise and lower performance.

Brake dust is a result of effective braking!
Best defense is to wash/clean the rims, then give them 3 coats of synthetic car wax- better heat resistance than carnuba waxes which melt off at just over 200 degrees
Inside and outer part of rims need to be waxed- not just the part you can reach from outside

I got tip that from azine sponsoring vendor ExcelDetail aka Patrick
synthetic is the wax to use on the car and the rims- temp melt point is 100 degrees higher on synth wax
Wont last forever the way I drive- but my Enkeis are shiny- stay reasonably clean- and mostly rinse right off with no effort- mild wiping of wash rag

any recommendations for which brand of synthetic wax to go with? I noticed this brand called Ice a little pricey but had great reviews

Turtle wax Ice- thats what I used on the rims- had tried it on the car a few times, and its way easy to apply and wipe off- give it time to flash off- then another coat or 2
You can hand wax it or do a final buff with the powerball- it doesnt matter - it will have coverage either way. Some of us have painted wheels and obsessive cleaning tendancies~
All synthetics run in the 15-20 dollar a bottle range- but once you start using it and the results on the car are amazing. It does the car several times- or hook your neighbor up too.
Now my car cover slides off the car as I try to open it up side to side- whoooosh there it goes!

Try that orange "Nu-Finish" stuff. It's been around forever and is at best mediocre for paint, but I find it to be great for repelling brake dust on wheels, and soot on exhaust tips.

nu finish is carnuba wax and several cleaning agents
It will not take the same temps that synthetics will on the rims
It is great wax on older cars- notice the commercials feature junkyard cars with lesser paint jobs than we have

Brake dust is an issue for me too, but I still have the brakes done at the dealer as they have the lathe that resurfaces the rotors on the car. That way, the new surface is perfectly perpendicular to the vehicle's wheel hub and spindle. Years of experience with Honda and Acura brakes has shown me this is the way to the fewest problems over time.

Try contacting one of the AZ vendors like Excelerate or Mr.Heeltoe for some options for your brakes.

It was at the dealer getting looked at and the dealer wanted some crazy amount upwards to $600 maybe even more I think to do the front pads and resurface the rotors...How much did you end up paying for your brakes?

Acura of Manhattan quoted me $415 then gave me 10% off of that, $373.50.

I think most Acura dealers will at least match the other Acura dealers in the same area.
