Battery Drain Issue - No start or electronics
Battery Drain Issue - No start or electronics
Hey there fellows, started by doing a search, didn't find my specific problem. Tried the TSB page but got a Link Deny on every link.
2004 TL 6speed
Car was parked in the garage for about a week and noticed that the driver door was left open, a dead battery from cabin lamp ensued.
I tried jumping the battery, nothing, no electronics what so ever, not a faint light or anything that looks like any power.
Took the battery out of my truck and swapped it and still nothing so now I know its something either in the system or maybe anti theft.
I thought that maybe the car is new enough that the anti theft system may not be allowing any electronics to the car...? I've had a dead battery before and just jumped it no problem but maybe this time is different cause it sat empty for so long.
a mechanic buddy said it may be something with a chip in the key?
Any help or links to help would be appreciated guys, thanks in advance. I'll take pics/video and try whatever you guys tell me.
I also am looking for a pic of the fuse panel cover as my tl did not come with one (interior).

There might be a loose cable somewhere. Check the groud cable coming out of the battery and make sure it's attached to the wall and not corroded or loose.
Interior fuse location... see page 248 here: http://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/p...404O00242B.pdf

If youre not getting any power whatsoever it might be the battery fuse located in the black box like compartment on the driver side of the engine bay behind the battery. Its a purple fuse thats held by two philips screws.
Sounds good guys I'll try both of these this evening and update the thread. A friend has a shop, his tech normally works on BMW/Porsche, I know he wont charge me much but I also know that time is money and don't expect him or his tech to do free work.
I'd really just like to get it started in my driveway before taking it in for the work it needs.
My car has been sitting in my garage since June and hasn't moved...

Sheesh, I check all these fuses and they all looked fine, This one looked good, but thought, hey let's just pull it anyway. A tiny little break but that will do it. picking up the new fuse today. Going to install it tomorrow when I get back in town. Thanks for the help guys, I'm sure this'll do the trick.
UPDATE:
Replaced the fuse last night and it started right up. Drove it around for a few miles and damn it feels good to drive the 6speed again!
New issue is the overhead dome lights are stuck on... anybody? it was too late and dark to check fuses last night and the bottle of wine wasn't helping.
Need to get it back in this condition:
