Battery Drain Issue
Battery Drain Issue
Good Afternoon all,
To preface my issue, I am not mechanically adept I will also note that back in June, I drove into a huge puddle on a local highway and my AEM CAI sucked up some water. I made it out alright but I had to take it to the shop because the check engine light was on and the engine was making noises and just felt odd while driving the car, which is understandable.
Mechanic took in the car and gave it back to me. It drives pretty good now, however periodically the check engine light will come back for a while and then disappear for days, so I assume it's a faulty sensor.
Furthermore, the security alarm light behind the steering wheel to the right of the side-view mirror adjustment area is also on instead of off while in operation and flashing red while armed.
I'm assuming that this light is what is causing my battery to drain and after the second day of night driving it will be completely dead requiring a jump.
Again, I am not mechanically savvy at all but could this all be due to a faulty fuse? Any other explanations that can be considered?
I appreciate your time in reading this.

maybe a faulty HFL causing the drain
sucks about driving in a puddle
i do not want that happening to me. NO CAI for me. Stock is just fine
Use the search function and see.there are some write ups on here

I have been running into the same issue lately. mind you I replace the starter, battery and disconnected the HFL completely from its circuit board. I also jump start the battery to get her started, the disconnect the battery to test the alternator. that turned out to be fine... now im stuck to tracing where i might have a bad ground or what ever is draining the battery.
