Anti-Theft Issue

I have a 2006 Acura TL and left it sitting for two weeks. When I got back my cars battery was dead. When I hooked up the battery to a charger the anti-theft alarm went off. I finally got the alarm to stop going. I was able to turn the car on, however the car wont shift out of park. I used a flat head on the little area by the shift knob in order to force it into gear. I drove the car around and it responded differently when I would step on the gas. Thoughts?

Acuras do strange things when they have a low/weak battery. I would change the battery first. I can imagine how a weak battery might affect the electronically controlled transmission.

What do you mean by "it responded differently when I would step on the gas"?

"Differently" how?

The car would kind of lag a little bit when I would accelerate. Very different then before.

Yeah I am going to have to get it charged. The thing is I just purchased this battery two months ago and it couldn't hold charge for two weeks. I think I might have a draw coming from somewhere.

when the battery dies or is reset the transmission has to undergo a relearn process. Its called grade logic . give it some more time and see how it responds in a week or so

Maybe the ECU got reset when car lost all power.

It's said that if you disconnect the battery (or have a dead battery in your case ) for a bit and then reconnect, the ECU resets and has to relearn everything.

Do as Oh Sickest TL said and drive the car for a while and see how it feels after a week or 100 miles or so.

Check out your Bluetooth to see if it's working. It's know to go bad and drain the battery to the point of ruining it.

Yeah my Bluetooth doesn't work at all. Any recommendations on how to make it stop draining the battery?

Yeah just looked up how to do it. super easy. Haven't gotten the chance to charge the battery yet, but im definitely going to do so soon. Unfortunately, I still can't get out of park. Hopefully charging the battery to full charge will solve the issue because the battery cant hold a charge right now. the car only starts when i have it plugged in.

Your battery is clearly defective. Since its new, just go get it warrantied. I can almost guarantee you it will fix your weird issues. TL's are very sensitive to bad batteries, and it can cause some really strange issues.
