I'm at a loss. Hopefully one of you can help me. Auto 06 model aspec. I got out of the car to go in a store. Didn't lock it. Come back out and alarm goes off when I open the door. My key fob quit working. Alarm went off but all lights continue to blink. It will let me start the car but not shift from park with out pushing the little button by the shifter. Is there a way I can reset it or disable the anti theft? Also I've tried the driver door lock and still nothing.

 

Do you know how old your battery is? How healthy is it? Many electrical oddities have been tied back to a tired/failing battery.

 

I don't but I guess I'm gonna have to go have it checked out

 

you need to disarm the car/immobilizer by pressing the unlock on the key fob

 

My key fob doesn't work. Put a new battery and tried to reprogram and still doesn't work. The light lights up on the fob but still nothing. I got the lights to quit blinking but still won't let me shift from park with out pushing the button beside it.

He said he didn't lock it so I don't think the alarm would arm and/or go off when he opened the door.

I don't have an automatic but don't believe the alarm would lock out the gear selector, would it? Sounds more like an issue with the electrical switch tied to the brake and the gear selector - can't remember what it's called off the top of my head.
