Factory Alarm question

I just purchased a TSX yesterday and noticed something when I got home late at night. I parked the car, and knowing that the doors don't automatically unlock, I hit the button to unlock the lock. However, I hit the wrong button and the alarm armed. I found that strange so I hit the unlock button right after (the correct one), then the alarm went off!! The lights and horn was going off and given that I live in an apartment complex and it was late at night I panicked. I reached for the key fob and pressed unlock but it wouldn't turn off! So I went in to super panic mode and pressed lock and unlock and it still wouldn't stop! So I tried to turn on the car and turn it off and it still didn't stop so I went back to fumbling with the fob key and somehow it stopped. Not sure what I pressed. So my question is, does the alarm always arm when locking the door from the inside whether the car is off or before starting the engine? And if so is there anywhere to prevent the alarm from locking with the lock button inside the car or is there a special way to stop the alarm if this scenario happens again? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks!

I just thought about a scenario, lets say I have friends in the car, and I step outside to go to the ATM and they lock the door from inside. This would arm the alarm correct? And what if later they want to come out, the alarm will go off correct? So is there a remedy to this solution other than leaving my keys with them or having them leave the doors unlocked?

This is the case with most alarms. The car will not realize that someone locked the car from the inside unless they key is in the ignition. So if they lock the car while your out with the keys, if they open the glove, armrest or the doors (just a few examples) the car alarm will go off. LOL you don't trust your friends to leave the keys with them? And the doors do automatically lock just so you know...

rex, i believe the doors only automatically lock if the car was initially locked and you unlock but don't open the doors. It will automatically lock after the programmed time you set from the MID
