Hi guys,

About 2 months ago, I noticed that my car started to not shift correctly first thing in the morning and would rev for a while before shifting gears and then upon slowing down it would jerk a little bit but nothing crazy. I don't know know why I thought it was a "morning thing" because on normal warm days, the car acts fine. Well, I took my car to the mechanic this past weekend to do my annual inspection and he said the transmission is starting to go out I am the 2nd owner and bought it in 12/2012 with 56k miles and now it has 134k miles and I have stayed on top of maintenance and everything! My heart is shattered because I wanted to drive this car until I couldn't no more but not in this manner. No check engine lights have come on or any lights for that matter, it just doesn't take off like it use to or slows down. My mechanic said to drive the car until it falls apart and then sell it for maybe $500 and save money for my next car or sell it now and Id be lucky if I get 1k.

when was the last time your fluid was replaced?

 

it will be 2 years in July. You mean the transmission fluid?

 

yup. i recommend replacing the transmission fluid and the pressure switches per this DIY:
